About the role
We are looking for a passionate and organised Voluntary Services Manager to lead and support our voluntary services team during a period of maternity cover. With an immediate start available (subject to pre employment checks), the role is expected to be fixed term until April 2027.
At Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. In this role, you will ensure our 650+ volunteers feel supported, valued and empowered to make a meaningful difference.
You will play a key role in maintaining high-quality volunteer programmes, ensuring best practice and compliance, and supporting services that directly enhance patient and family care.
Leading all aspects of volunteer involvement across the Charity and line managing the Voluntary Services Coordinator and Caring Communities Coordinator, you will oversee inclusive recruitment, induction, training and ongoing support for volunteers, ensuring they feel valued, safe and well placed within their roles.
Working closely with colleagues and community partners, you will help deliver the charity’s volunteering strategy, promote community engagement, monitor volunteer impact and contribute to service improvement.
You will also support the development and day-to-day running of Arthur’s Shed, maintaining a welcoming programme of activities and strengthening local community connections.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of managing or supervising volunteers
- Is highly organised with excellent interpersonal skills
- Can build strong relationships with a wide range of people
- Is committed to inclusion, equality and best practice
- Is confident working both operationally and strategically
Experience in a charity, healthcare or community setting would be an advantage.
