About the role

In this role you will lead the development and management of effective, compliant, and practical policies aligned with legal, industry, and organisational standards. The role coordinates the Policy Working Group, maintains the policy register, and supports teams with expert advice and best practice. Working cross-functionally, the coordinator drives training, implementation, and monitoring to ensure policy effectiveness. They also track external developments to proactively identify and respond to emerging policy needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development and approval of policies across Sense, including day-to-day coordination of the Policy Working Group.
  • Oversee the drafting, review, and maintenance of organisational policies and related guidance materials.
  • Manage the policy register and version control to ensure accuracy, transparency, and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate consultation with internal stakeholders and external partners to gather input and build alignment.
  • Provide clear, practical advice to operational teams on policy interpretation and consistent implementation.

About you

  • Proven experience in policy development, implementation and review – ideally within the charity, health, or social care sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret legislation, guidance and technical information.
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement and consultation processes across diverse groups.
  • Sound understanding of policy development and approval principles.
  • Ability to translate complex issues into clear, practical policy and operational guidance.
  • Proven ability to influence and build productive working relationships at all levels.
