The HR Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the HR Manager, assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, learning & development and data management.  They would demonstrate a proven ability to streamline processes, maintain accurate documentation, and support positive employee experiences.   The HR Assistant should also be skilled in communication and organization, contributing to an efficient and effective HR function.

  • Administer the end-to-end recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, placing adverts, and scheduling interviews.
  • Prepare and issue offer letters, contracts of employment, and starter packs.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of employee data using the HR information system, Healthbox HR.
  • Process contractual changes, as well as maternity/paternity/adoption/shared parental leave and sick leave.
  • Respond to employee queries regarding pay, pensions and benefits.
  • Monitor probationary periods and contract end dates, notifying the HR Manager as necessary.
  • Assist the HR Manager in creating and formatting training materials and presentations on a variety of HR topics.
  • Compile and summarize evaluation data into actionable reports to help measure the effectiveness of training programmes.
  • Provide efficient administrative support for ER casework, including grievances, disciplinaries, absence management and performance management processes.
  • Administer documentation for leavers, including processing exit interview notes and final paperwork.

Working arrangements and salary

This is a permanent appointment (subject to a 3-month probation period).
Competitive salary range of FTE £32,000 pa

This role is being offered on either a full time (37.5 hours per week) or part time basis (min 80% FTE, 30 hours per week).
