What You’ll Be Doing:

Response is looking for an enthusiastic, caring person to join their dedicated team at Scrutton Close & Newman Court! The Scrutton Close/Newman Court team focus on supporting clients within their own accommodation. Staff offer a high level of support, and work closely with clients to achieve their personal goals and gain increased independence before taking the next step in their journey.

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing person-centred support to residents with serious mental illness including adults who have a primary diagnosis of a psychotic illness often with one or more coexisting conditions such physical health issues, neurodiversity, drugs & alcohol use and cognitive impairment.

Support workers work with residents to enable them to achieve and sustain a rewarding life in the community. Working proactively with residents to promote independence, well-being and ability to manage their own mental health. Staff are responsible for ensuring safety is always maintained though good housing management, risk assessment and health & safety practice. Supporting people to maintain tenancies, look after their homes and develop daily living skills.

Some of the core duties include:

• Provide emotional support, encouragement, and practical assistance to residents with daily living activities. This may include medication assistance, engaging with interests, education, accessing community groups/facilities, employment, teaching life skills such as shopping, budgeting, using public transport and skills such as planning to prepare and cook meals, maintain accommodation.
• Foster a supportive and empowering environment that promotes residents' independence.
• Support and monitor clients physical and mental health through key working and ensuring access where appropriate to primary health services or liaising with mental health services.
• Support clients to attend appointments where required.
• Ensure daily paperwork is completed.
• Support the Service Manager to achieve monthly service
• Comply with all Health and Safety measures to keep residents, visitors, colleagues and yourself safe.
• Work with all residents using a trauma informed approach using the 6 principles of trauma informed care: Safety, Trust, Choice, Collaboration, Empowerment and Cultural Consideration
• Promote family, friend and carers engagement, ensuring they are involved in their loved one’s support and given information about the service.

Children’s Worker – Places Project

We are looking to appoint a Children’s Worker to work with the team on a range of innovative new initiatives for children and their families, as well as helping existing ministries to grow and flourish.

The Diocese of Manchester has established the Places Project, which is currently working with 33 schools and 33 churches in developing discipleship pathways for children and young people in Bolton. We are looking to appoint a Children’s Worker to work with the team on a range of innovative new initiatives for children and their families, as well as helping existing ministries to grow and flourish.

The Children’s Worker will work with churches and primary schools to create worship and discipleship opportunities for children. As part of their role, the Children’s Worker will work as part of the wider Places Project team, with specific involvement in a Year 6 transition programme in primary schools.

The Children’s Worker will have many opportunities for training and development, as well as the creative freedom to launch new children’s initiatives. They will work within a highly motivated and supportive team, who are committed to prayer and to raising a generation of Jesus-followers.

The post holder should have some experience of children’s ministry and working or volunteering in a church and/or school context. To succeed, they need to be enthusiastic, relational, self-motivated and able to lead children in a variety of contexts.

The Welfare Navigator is responsible for supporting existing and potential beneficiaries by

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Serve as the first point of contact for enquiries from members of the RAF family (serving

and veteran), the public, and caseworkers. Respond positively and enthusiastically
through web-based platforms, telephone helpline, email, and post, demonstrating a
genuine passion for helping others from the very first interaction.

•  Communicate confidently and empathetically with callers facing complex needs or

difficult circumstances, including those who may be vulnerable or challenging to engage.

•  Refer individuals to appropriate internal services within the RAF Benevolent Fund, or to

partner agencies, for casework assistance and additional support.

•  Where enquiries fall outside the RAF Benevolent Fund’s remit, provide referral to

Salary: £14,468.61 per annum

Hours: 20 hours per week

Why this role would be great for you

As a Duty Worker at YMCA Together you will naturally be an empathetic and caring person wanting to provide unconditional support for those experiencing homelessness and addiction issues. Your role as a Duty Worker will be to be alongside our Support Practitioners and residents to create a safe environment that empowers residents to make positive changes in their lives.

What your week may look like

Customer Service

• Build excellent relationships with our residents who have a wide range of complex and challenging support needs, NB-Post holders must be willing to support residents who display challenging behaviour, including verbal aggression.
• Assisting Residents with their day to day enquiries
• Greet agencies attending the service and build excellent relationships to support partnership working.
• Excellent communication skills to deal with telephone enquiries and priorities to the team any return calls or actions are completed.
• Resident support and Engagement
• Be first point of contact for resident enquiries at reception, prioritising support and helping care and support practitioners throughout the shift.
• Provide a safe welcoming enviro with excellent standards and an ethos of service delivery that encourages residents to engage with the team and service.
• Use therapeutic approach to work alongside our residents. Understanding their individual needs and risk.

Multi Agency Working

• Working Closely with agencies and statutory services to ensure wrap around care for residents including health, mental health and substance misuse services.
• Encourage service users to engage with external agencies and allocated key workers.
• Understand and get to know who are the key contacts for residents particularly those regularly visiting the service.

Administrative Duties

• Maintain accurate up to date electronic and written records and ensure daily paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
• Deal with feedback from residents and external agencies, keeping appropriate records.
• Ensure messages and calls are handed over and dealt with appropriately.
• Update residents records using DAVE computer systems, including serious incident reporting, safeguarding records.
• Provide clear accurate information on handovers to the team making recommendations where appropriate.

Health and Safety

• Liase with emergency services
• Ensure at all times the safety of yourself and others on the premises you work.
• Conduct health and safety checks.
