About The Role

We are seeking a Recovery Navigator Volunteer within the Assessment and Fast Track team at Barnsley Recovery Steps.

At Barnsley Recovery Steps we recognise that everyone’s goals around making changes to their drug and alcohol use are different. Whatever people want to achieve we can support them to get there, whether this is making small changes, stopping completely, or reducing risk.

The role involves supporting clients from their first contact through their recovery journey.

Key duties include offering emotional support, completing assessments and related paperwork, and assisting with administrative tasks such as phone check-ins, reminder calls, and engaging disengaged clients. There is potential to support home visits or co-working on a caseload.

What We Offer

We value the people who make a difference every day. Alongside meaningful work, you’ll enjoy:

  • Discounts from various schemes
  • Training and personal development

  • Support from experienced staff and regular supervision
  • Opportunities to meet new people and develop your confidence
  • Reimbursement for travel and agreed expenses
  • Valuable experience that can support your personal or career development
