Youth Ministry Lead Role Description

Gateway Vineyard is a multi-site church currently meeting in 3 locations in Norwich and Beccles; Extending Gods Kingdom together, everywhere and in every way. We want to love God, love people and bring life.

We have a growing youth ministry and a committed team of volunteers in each of our three locations. As well as a Sunday morning programme we run a Friday night youth event fortnightly, life groups and other events to engage and disciple young people.

Post Holder Responsibilities

Champion and communicate Gateways vision, values and standards for Youth ministry across all sites

Support youth team development through cross-site training or site specific training and developing the skills and gifts of youth team members

Maintain and screen a bank of resources for Youth ministry that are used by the site leads in choosing and planning overview of the curriculum and weekly leads use to plan their sessions

Responsible for overall accuracy of Churchsuite (including annual update for parents to confirm details across sites)

Support the process for identifying SEND and work with the Supernovas lead and parents to ensure adequate support for those identified children

Holding the creation and development of relevant policy and processes which enable us to operate in a safe way

Plan, lead and co-ordinate a team fortnightly on Friday nights which engages young people in worship, prayer and community building through a range of activities

Identifying and nurturing young people's gifting by encouraging active participation in allaspects of youth ministry

Plan and lead a team from Gateway taking young people to the annual DTI summer Vineyard week away and any Gateway youth weekends

• Contribute to and participate in the Gateway Staf Team on Thursday mornings.

Terms

This post is 10 hours a week with a salary in the region of 7,400. Some hours may need to be worked occasionally in an evening/ weekend to cover events with the possibility of some additional hours. There is a probation period of 6 months.

The post holder will be entitled to 8.8 days annual leave incl bank holidays.

The post holder will be entitled to receive a pension contribution of 7%

The role is subject to a full DBS check.

It is an expectation that as a member of Gateway Vineyard people serve 1 out 4 weeks on Sundays as part of team. This is separate to responsibilities in this role which may require visiting sites as part of work hours.

Job Specification

*Have a personal Christian faith and live a lifestyle consistent with the values of your Christian faith

Be loyal to the Lead Pastors, Leadership Team, Gateway Vineyard and the Vineyard Churches movement and committed to personal leadership development

Excellent interpersonal skills

Experience of leading young people and youth teams, ideall in a church setting Experience of leading and building team

A passion to equip young people in their discipleship and to be living missionally Ability to communicate vision, teach and train, delegate and work through others Qualified to A-Level or similar OR hold and maintain a qualification relevant to the post Be Computer literate [Microsoft office, internet, databases]

Organised and self-motivated

Able to work as a part of a team

A working knowledge of safeguarding
