Welfare Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Welfare Officer to join our People Services Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering wellbeing support and initiatives that make a real difference to our staff and volunteers across the organisation.
The Role
As our Welfare Officer, you will support the delivery of workplace health and wellbeing initiatives, helping staff and volunteers to thrive at work.
You will provide confidential welfare support, coordinate wellbeing activities, and contribute to building a safe, inclusive and compassionate working environment.
This is a part-time, hybrid role with the expectation of travel across our sites to support colleagues in person.
What You'll Do
- Provide confidential one-to-one welfare supportto staff and volunteers
- Support managers in addressing wellbeing concerns within teams
- Assist in delivering wellbeing initiatives, campaigns and events
- Support staff returning from absence, including wellbeing-related leave
- Signpost colleagues to appropriate internal and external support services
- Contribute to the implementation of the organisation's wellbeing strategy
- Work collaboratively with HR, Health and Safety, and managersto embed wellbeing across the organisation
- Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive workplace culture
We are looking for someone who is empathetic, approachable and committed to supporting others. If you have experience in similar roles, or have strong interpersonal skills to bring to this role, then this could be the role for you.
Please note that due to the travel to other sites included in the role, the successful applicant will need a full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle.

Hours: Part-time 25 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Cheltenham and travel to other sites
Pay: £17,973.33 per year (£26,960 FTE - Band C)

^Annual Leave entitlement will be pro-rata for Part-time staff. Working on public holidays due to a rota pattern will be compensated with time off in lieu. An extra day of leave accrues for each completed financial year (capped at 5). Purchasing additional holidays is capped at 5 per year.
^^Contracted staff only. Business mileage (45p a mile) is paid for any daily miles over and above the distance from your home to the allocated workplace location and back. You'll need a well-maintained vehicle with valid tax, MOT and Insurance covering business use.
