Wardrobe Technician (Grade 5) - Fixed Term Contract (1756)
Do you have significant experience in costume maintenance and / or wardrobe support in a theatre environment? Do you work well within a busy team? Are you available between the end of June and early September to support on The Mad King?
We are looking for experience Wardrobe Technicians to work as part of the Running Wardrobe Team to ensure all costume and dressing requirements are delivered to the highest standard, supporting smooth and safe technical rehearsals, technical processes.
Reporting to the Head of Running Wardrobe, key areas of responsibility include (please see the Role Profile for the comprehensive list):
- Delivering efficient and friendly dressing support – assisting with costumes which includes lifting and moving costume rails, baskets and heavy costumes.
- Recording maintenance and repair notes of costumes, submitted dressing notes and updating show-running documentation
- Ironing and steaming of costumes during laundry calls
- Supporting Get-Ins, understudy rehearsals and Get-Outs.
- Attending run through prior to technical period
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:
- Proficient knowledge of costume and period terminology.
- Knowledge of laundry and textile care together with competent machine and hand sewing skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- An understanding of the requirements of Show Running and being part of a wider Stage Operations Team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position from 29 June to 9 September 2026, based in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will be working an average of 44 hours per week, 6 out of 7days.
