Head of Major Gifts (Family Leave Cover) (1663)
Are you an ambitious fundraiser looking for an opportunity with an exciting and established portfolio and an internationally renowned brand? Are you skilled at securing and stewarding six-figure gifts and growing portfolios? Can you lead, motivate and inspire a small, hardworking team?
We are looking to appoint an experienced fundraiser to lead the strategy, cultivation and stewardship of major (five and six-figure) gifts. This is a fixed-term position to cover family leave, expected to run from May 2026 until around May 2027. It's a wonderful opportunity to join the RSC in a period of strategic change and growth. You will work closely with Co-Artistic Directors Daniel Evans and Tamara Harvey and Executive Director Andrew Leveson to generate support for our acclaimed work both on and off stage.
Reporting to the Development Director, your key areas of responsibility will include:
- Managing a portfolio of around 50 active supporters and prospects, predominantly from the UK and the US, with a focus on new gifts of six figures.
- Leading and motivating the Major Gifts team, setting and meeting bold and achievable financial targets.
- Working with senior leaders, Board, Governors and high-level volunteers to engage supporters and prospects.
- Working with the Development Events team to deliver a programme of events for major philanthropists.
- Monitoring annual income targets, budgets and KPIs.
To be suitable for this role, it's essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional fundraising skills, with a track record of securing and stewarding six-figure gifts.
- The ability to represent the RSC at a senior level.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure, balancing long-term strategic planning with short-term results.
The RSC's Development department is split between Stratford-upon-Avon and London, and the majority of the Major Gifts team is based in Stratford-upon-Avon. This position can be based in either Stratford-upon-Avon or London and will require regular travel to the other office (expenses are covered by the RSC). This role is a full-time, fixed-term contract position based on working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will be required to work in the office or on site for a minimum of 3 days per week. Due to the nature of our work, occasional weekend and evening work will be required and there may be some international travel.

Senior Social Media Manager (1510)

- Experience of Adobe Suite, video and graphic editing skills together with experience of filming and editing simple, short-form video content.
- Ability to analyse social media data to measure performance, report findings and recommend improvements.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in either Stratford-upon-Avon or London. This role offers hybrid working, with 60% of the working week based in the office.
You will be working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although some degree of flexibility will be required according to workload, including some evening and weekend work.

Brand and Audiences at the RSC is entering a new era and to move forward we need an experienced Head of Marketing to focus on marketing our London transfers and tours. In this role you will be working at the highest level with partners and producers and leading a small marketing team.
You will be collaborating on the organisation-wide audience strategy and ensure that marketing plans are integrated. You will identify and capitalise on opportunities to grow reach and diversification, expand awareness of the brand and maximise sales and revenue.

Do you have an interest in technical Theatre? Are you an excellent communicator? Do you take a flexible approach to your work?
The Stage and Props department is looking to increase the pool of Casual Stage & Props Technicians that can be called upon, sometimes at short notice, to join the Stage and Props department during busy periods. They may be asked to support get-ins, rehearsals, performances and get-outs.
Reporting to the Head of Stage, key areas of responsibility include (please see the full role profile for the comprehensive list):
- Assisting with staging, rigging, slinging, and basic stage carpentry as required.
- Supporting smooth get‑ins, rehearsals, performances, changeovers, and get‑outs, taking on assigned roles during work calls.
- Liaising with colleagues across Production and Technical Departments on specific stage, props, and rigging requirements.
- Contributing to work undertaken in our workshops at TBR and stores at Farrs.
- Ensuring stage and props areas are prepared to agreed design and safety standards before rehearsals and performances.
To be suitable for this role, it is desirable that you have the following knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge of theatre staging, basic stage carpentry, scenic shifting, and props show running.
- Working understanding of stage and props tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely, including responding quickly to last‑minute changes.
- Experience working effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working in front of large audiences (e.g., during scene changes).
This position is offered as a casual agreement which requires availability at short notice to cover a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends. We are looking for people with a flexible approach to working, with availability to support the department.

Head Cutter (Specialising in Women's Costume) (1681)
Do you have experience of leading and supervising costume teams in theatre and freelance settings? Are you an expert in pattern drafting and cutting within women's costume? Can you work across a broad range of period costume? Do you have excellent knowledge of garment construction, alteration and refurbishment?
We are looking for an experienced Head Cutter to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, in our purpose built, state of the art Costume Workshops, in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon.
This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a unique and specialist team, where costumes for all RSC shows are produced. You would be working in conjunction with the designers to realise their ideas from concept to stage.
Reporting to the Head of Costume, some of your duties and responsibilities will include (please see the Role Profile for a comprehensive list):
- Planning workload, collaborating with the second Head Cutter ensuring work is assigned effectively across both workrooms
- Overseeing the creative and alternation of costumes for traditionally gendered costume categories
- Interpreting designs, cut and grade patterns and supervising the production of costumes from concept to stage
- Leading a team of costume makers through all stages of production
- Working with Designers, Production Managers and senior Costume colleagues ensuring work meets production schedules
- Attending production meetings, rehearsals, and fittings to uphold standards of artistic quality, ensuring all health, safety and welfare issues are dealt with.
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:
- BTEC, HND, or degree in Theatre Costume, or equivalent professional experience.
- Expertise in pattern drafting and cutting, ideally with a stronger focus in one traditionally gendered costume area
- Extensive knowledge of costume terminology and construction techniques
- Demonstrable experience in managing, leading, supervising and coaching a team
- Advanced proficiency in safely operating and maintaining workshop machinery.
The working hours are annually averaged at 44 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays.

Are you an exceptional senior prop maker with experience in a construction workshop? Do you have excellent CAD drawing skills together with practical knowledge of 3D printing? Can you work creatively with a wide range of materials to produce everything from handmade crocodile sculptures to beautifully crafted calligraphy, delicate miniature puppets, and enchanting potion bottles?
This is a wonderful role for a highly experienced Prop Maker to help with delivering innovative, high quality and sustainable stage props for productions across all RSC stages.
Based in our Scenic Workshops, in Stratford-upon-Avon, you will play a key role in leading the small and effective team, mentoring others and deputising for the Head of Props. With an exciting upcoming artistic programme for 2026, you will work with and support the creative vision of designers and directors, whilst ensuring efficient, safe and cost-effective operations.

- Overseeing workshop-based props construction
