Coaching: 1 weekday evening for 2 hours between 1800 – 22:00 (flexible and to be discussed with Head of Hockey) training session at UWE Lockleaze Sports Centre Frequency: Weekly for 6 weeks at the start of the season and then moving to monthly for the remainder of the season. Description of Services: As Hockey Goalkeeper coach you will be required to work with keepers in both men's and women's teams and across all squads using your expertise to: Delivery of training sessions on selected dates Assess players at entry point and throughout the season, providing ongoing feedback to players to improve their GK Design and deliver planned sessions that meet the needs of the participants and are progressive and develop skills with learning outcomes Maintain appropriate records of your participants’ progress Work with the UWE Hockey Coaching Team playing your role in the coordination of a whole system approach to our hockey programme Engage with coach education opportunities at UWE if desired You must attend the Coaches Induction at the start of the year (or watch the recording), read and make yourself familiar with the Coaches Handbook and understand UWE policies and procedures, including adhering to finance timescales regarding invoicing. Please note you must provide a like for like replacement if you are unable to attend a session. Essential requirements To hold a UKCC L2 Hockey Coaching certificate or equivalent in the specified sport and experience or qualification in hockey goalkeeping To have experience coaching Hockey Goalkeepers and the demonstrated understanding of the wider game and effective coaching principles and practices To have £10m Public Liability and £5m Professional Indemnity Insurance If you are interested, please send a cover letter outlining your suitability in line with the requirements, along with your CV to pete.burrows@uwe.ac.uk by Monday 6th July.
