Job Description
“Meaningful Career, No Experience Needed”
Looking for a career that makes a real difference?
Are you honest, respectful, fun, compassionate, and kind? If so, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
At MacIntyre, we support adults with learning disabilities in Leicester to live meaningful, fulfilling lives. We recruit based on values, not experience — because we believe the right attitude matters more than a CV. Full training is provided.
Why a Support Worker role?
Many people join us from retail, hospitality, care, admin, or customer service — often because they want something more rewarding and stable. While many sectors are changing or shrinking, the social care sector continues to grow, offering:
- Long-term job security
- Clear career progression
- Recognised qualifications & full training
- Truly meaningful work
So what would you be doing day to day? Here's what the people you will be supporting had to say.
Things that are important to me about our Support Workers :-
- Talk to me/ treat me like an adult
- Support me to do things, not do them for me…..even if it takes a long time
- To listen to me and not ‘tell’ me. I do not like it if it sounds like you are being bossy with me.
- Always ensure you include me, I am able to make decisions about my life and do not like it if I think you are talking about me.
- I need someone who is kind and patient with me.
Support me to ;-
- Visit my family
- Go out and about in the car either to a cafe or to the shops or both!
- Make the most of my garden and enjoy the outdoors when the weather is nice.
- Stay safe inside and outside of my home.
- Do crafts and play on my wii, I love it when I get the chance to beat you on my golf game.
- Take me swimming or climbing
The people we support are looking for connections and purpose – are you the right person to bring that to the role?
"Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding."
