Sheffield DocFest is looking for volunteers to help out across the festival.

The 2026 festival is set to run from Wednesday 10 June to Monday 15 June 2026. DocFest’s Volunteer Programme offers an exciting opportunity to see how a festival works while exploring your interests. There are plenty of ways to get involved, with roles spanning across many aspects of the festival. As a volunteer, you’ll receive a DocCrew volunteer t-shirt and a volunteer pass. After completing your shift, you may also have the chance to watch a film from the programme or access the standby queue for films, talks, and sessions, subject to availability. Volunteers will also receive a family and friends discount code that can be used across the festival.

Whether you’re new to festival volunteering or already experienced, there is a wide range of roles available. You can explore the various volunteer roles on the DocFest website.

Volunteers will be asked to commit to a minimum of two shifts. The duration of shifts varies by role, with the longest shifts lasting up to 7 hours, so please read the descriptions carefully.

Applications are open to anyone aged 16 and over. Please note that applicants under 18 years of age will need to provide written permission from a parent or carer to take part.
