Shifts: Shifts cover a 24/7-week (incl Bank holidays, sleep ins and 1x 12-hour shift at the weekend, every other weekend)

Salary: £28,437 per annum

Join Minstead Trust as a Senior Support Worker and play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred support that empowers individuals with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible.

About the Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will support the Team Manager in leading a dedicated team to provide personalised support across a range of supported living settings. This could include anything from 24/7 support in shared homes (2–6 tenants) to individuals living independently with minimal support.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance direct support delivery with team coordination, supervision, and operational responsibilities.

The Role:

  • Support the Team Manager in leading and coordinating the staff team to deliver outstanding care
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed to maintain high-quality service standards
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship to support staff
  • Coordinate keyworker responsibilities, ensuring records and reports are accurate and up to date
  • Contribute to staff training, inductions, and ongoing development
  • Help organise rotas and ensure adequate staffing, including covering shifts where required
  • Participate in on-call duties to support 24-hour service delivery
  • Promote dignity, respect, and person-centred support for all service users
  • Build positive relationships with families, external professionals, and stakeholders
  • Lead or support team meetings and ensure clear communication across the service
  • Monitor equipment and resources to ensure safe and effective care delivery
  • Participate in sleep-in duties and the service rota as required

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about delivering person-centred care and confident in a leadership role.

  • A full driving licence with access to your own vehicle
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adults)
  • Strong understanding of learning disabilities and complex/challenging behaviour
  • Working knowledge of Person-Centred Planning
  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS
  • Experience in supervising or supporting staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organise rotas and manage competing priorities
  • Strong record-keeping and reporting skills
  • Willingness to undertake further professional development if required
