Are you passionate about music education and eager to inspire the next generation? Bromley Youth Music Trust (BYMT) is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Senior Specialist Teacher (Curriculum Music) to join our vibrant and growing team.

This is a new opportunity, and we are excited to welcome an additional colleague who will work alongside our Schools Provision Manager to champion high-quality curriculum music support across both Primary and Secondary settings.

About Us

Bromley Youth Music Trust (BYMT) is a vibrant and growing musical hub at the heart of the Bromley community. We provide high-quality instrumental and vocal tuition to over 7,000 students across local schools and deliver an extensive programme of 93 weekly school-based activities.

At our central provision, more than 800 students take part in a rich and diverse ensemble programme, including:

  • 36 instrumental / vocal ensembles spanning a wide range of styles and abilities
  • A dynamic and successful Musical Theatre programme

Our students regularly progress to university, performing arts institutions, and leading music conservatoires. We are proud to nurture their musical development while making a meaningful contribution to the cultural life of the wider community.

The Role

This 0.5 FTE post (flexible/negotiable) combines curriculum music support and leadership. You will:

  • Inspire and support both students and school music leaders
  • Deliver high-quality curriculum music lessons across a range of styles and abilities
  • Lead and develop singing/instrumental provision (subject to specialism) within schools and BYMT ensembles
  • Coach and direct ensembles, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development and support music education delivery, providing CPD and guidance to both teachers and school leaders
  • Play a key role in shaping and maintaining high standards across our curriculum work in both Primary and Secondary settings
