The role:

BH Live is recruiting for a Senior Events Co-ordinator who will be responsible for the coordination of large scale and/or complex business events across Bournemouth International Centre and Bournemouth Pavilion.

Bournemouth International Centre and Bournemouth Pavilion are iconic cultural landmarks offering a year-round event programme., operated by the registered charity BH Live in partnership with BCP Council.

With flexible spaces and licensed capacity for 10,000 delegates, the BIC is the south coast’s largest and most versatile event venue. The venue attracts major players in the public and private sector, bringing millions of pounds into the local economy through employment and business tourism. Bournemouth Pavilion is a Grade II listed venue opened in March 1929. It has a 1,500-seat theatre and full-sized ballroom. The venue hosts a year-round diverse programme of events and entertainment such as musicals, opera, ballet, pantomime, comedy, dances and fashion shows. As the Senior Events Coordinator you will be responsible for fairs, corporate presentations, product launches, conferences and exhibitions.

You will:

  • Need previous experience of successfully coordinating large scale high profile and/or complex events.
  • Be responsible for raising invoices and purchase orders and ensure clients meet all their contractual obligations during the preplanning stages.
  • Be responsible for liaising with the venues Operational Managers and Health and Safety Advisors on behalf of the client.
  • Create and produce accurate schedules/function sheets within set deadlines.
  • To promote and negotiate on all in-house facilities and services to maximise secondary spend.
  • Identifying, discussing, and agreeing client requirements consulting with venue colleagues.
  • Secure repeat business for the venues by meeting with clients to discuss logistics and assist in the sales process.

To be successful you will need:

  • Coordinating meetings/conferences from 250+ delegates.
  • Experience of coordinating exhibitions and/or events.
  • Ability to operate to tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
