BH Live is recruiting for a Bar and Café Manager to join our team. You will be based at BH Live Active Littledown, which is short distance from Bournemouth Town Centre and you will be working for the region’s flagship leisure centre, looking after our hospitality areas that include a bar, café and The Lookout.
This is a great opportunity and you will have a primary focus on the Lookout Bar at BH Live Active which offers outdoor live music and dining experience within a rustic setting, with brightly coloured beach hut booths and luscious planting nestles underneath a pagoda-style canopy. The Lookout enjoys views across acres of parkland and is open daily for food and drink from 11am – 10pm Monday – Friday and 11am to 7pm on Saturday and 11am – 8pm on Sunday.
The Lookout hosts regular events and live music and this exciting role will suit someone who has a keen interest to drive the business forward and bring new ideas to increase our retail catering offering and generate and increase income. You will co-ordinate the day-to-day operation of the fitness area. Supervise public participation in activities at the Centre, predominantly, but not limited, to the Gym. A vibrant community hub, the team at Pelhams works closely with the local community and health groups to provide fitness and social activities for all. Do you want to help us ensure Pelhams Park Leisure Centre is kept clean and tidy? If so, we are looking for a part time cleaner to join our team. Located in Kinson (North Bournemouth), Pelhams is operated by the registered charity BH Live in partnership with BCP Council. A vibrant community hub, the team at Pelhams works closely with the local community and health groups to provide fitness and social activities for all. Offering high-quality fitness facilities include a recently refurbished gym with natural daylight and park views. Equipment includes Technogym’s cardio, resistance equipment for strength and toning, free weights and functional fitness space. An exercise referral team provides guidance and support for people recovering from an illness, injury or who are living with long term health condition. Swimming facilities include two pools with lane swimming, public swim sessions, and pool-based swim lessons. There is also a sauna for post workout relaxation.

We are recruiting for a full or part time Exercise Referral Advisor to join our team at BH Live Active, working across three sites in Southampton.
BH Live operates leisure facilities across this vibrant and lively port city in partnership with Southampton City Council. In line with the council’s ‘We Can Be Active’ strategy, we provide excellent leisure facilities and hundreds of activities for all ages and abilities to inspire and support more communities to be active.
The role will involve offering a personalised exercise and lifestyle programme for customers referred onto the programme by medical professionals.
You will work across The Quays Swimming and Diving Complex, Bitterne Leisure Centre and Chamberlayne Leisure Centre.
· Assist with the implementation of the Health and Fitness Programme provided for exercise referral patients at the nominated sites.
· Undertake 'Welcome Sessions' for new referral patients and provide follow-up one-to-one informal support.
· Carry out individual fitness testing and assessments for patients, as per the procedures and guidelines set out by the Health and Wellbeing Manager.
· Ensure the correct interpretation of the fitness tests and assessments, formulating safe and appropriate physical activity recommendations for each individual.
· Correctly identify situations where an individual’s safe exercise participation needs to be cleared by the Health and Wellbeing Manager or the programme’s GP.
· Assist with the administration of the programme as required.
· Attend and contribute to any relevant meetings as may be required including staff training.
· Assist with the continued promotion of the programmes as directed by the Health and Wellbeing Manager.

To lead the day to day running of the technical operations team across all BH Live Sites –

• Manage the delivery of all aspects of Technical Operations within the designated
contract/facilities including aspects of Facilities Management (FM), Utilities &
Environmental Management and Technical Health and Safety Management.
Key responsibilities
• To lead and manage any members of the technical operations team directly under your
supervision, ensuring that team members are competent to undertake their required duties
and are trained and developed to increase their effectiveness with regards technical
operations. Carry out annual reviews on staff and ensure they receive relevant training to
fulfil their job roles.
• Manage the on-site organisation and delivery of reactive maintenance actions and repairs
to both plant and the building fabric of all facilities within the designated contract including
MAIN code expenditure and related financial controls.
• Manage the on-site organisation and delivery of the AMGT Schedules ensuring that high
risk and statutory service obligations are prioritised and delivered in a timely manner.
• Assist operational teams with the scheduled delivery of routine compliance tasks (as
documented in Ops Pal's technical sections). Report any deficiencies found in the
application of the compliance protocols
• Develop and maintain the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPMA) schedules ensuring
that it interfaces and supports with any local authority Annual Maintenance Plan (AMP).
• Lead and manage on technical based small works capital expenditure projects including
refurbishments, plant installations and refresh works linked to the PPMA schedules.
• To keep up to date and familiar with current legislation and maintain systems of control in
accordance with company policy and key facilities management plans. This includes
technical aspects of the Asbestos Management Plan (AMP); Water Quality Management
Plan (WMP); Fire Safety Management Plan (FMP) and Electrical Safety Management Plan
(EMP).
• Make sure that Centre Operational Teams have a core understanding of day-to-day
technical operations and tasks needed to ensure that facilities can open and operate.
Facilitate competency training and site-specific workshops to Operational duty teams in
order that they can undertake these duties in a safe and competent manner.
• Ensure all centre environments are running at optimum performance including air & water
treatment systems and plant.
• Manage MAIN, AMGT, PPMA & SWEX expenditure for your designated contract/facilities
against budget and report on deviations and overspends were appropriate.
• Ensure that all expenditure and procurement of goods & services follow company
procurement rules and reflects best value. This includes the requirement to periodically
review contracts and schedules of rates with service providers to ensure that all technical
purchasing is equal to or better than current market rates.
• To work closely with the Corporate Health and Safety Team to develop a robust safety
culture, maintaining, developing and promoting Health & Safety to ensuring that BH Live is
providing the highest standards of health and safety to its workforce, contractors and
customers.
• Oversee and execute the cost-effective procurement of all contractors, materials, and
services. This includes controlling and monitoring work quality against technical
specifications and escalating deviations to ensure high standards are maintained.
• Provide expert technical support and advice to manage facilities issues, ensuring strict
adherence to the established response guidelines and call-out cascade (TOFM02). This
includes evaluating, prioritizing, and coordinating necessary remedial actions for all
unplanned issues, especially during serious and critical incidents
• Work collaboratively with the Corporate Energy and Environmental Manager to reduce BH
Live’s carbon footprint and fulfil environmental obligations. Ensure buildings are managed
and operated with energy efficiency as a high priority
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by management.

Do do want to help us ensure The Quays is kept clean and tidy? If so, we are looking for a part time cleaner to join our team.
Situated near Southampton Harbour, The Quays Swimming and Diving Centre is one of only four High Performance Centres for diving in the UK.
There is a 10m diving board with an 18m diving pool, with public swim sessions and swimming lessons taking place in a separate 25m main pool. Waterslides offer splashing fun for families and individuals, feeding into a separate lagoon pool complete with interactive water features.
With a state-of-the-art gym complete with cardio and strength areas, group exercise classes are delivered in dedicated studios.

This is a great opportunity for a Level 4 or 5 WAG coach to work in an ambitious environment to progress gymnasts at regional and national level, with international travel opportunities.
Based at Portsmouth Gymnastics Centre., which is one the leading gymnastics facilities in the country. You will need experience of working with a competitive squad within the British Gymnastics development pathway.
Judging knowledge/qualifications are desirable but not essential.
This 30-hour post also includes pre-school gymnastics coaching hours.
You will run a safe and organised programme of gymnastics to enable learning and progression during different phases of the competitive year.
PGC is a world-class, purpose-built facility with top Olympic standard apparatus. and have the ambition and support structure in place to grow the WAG squad to international achievement standard.
- Ensure the safety of all gymnasts and make sure that they each have a clear training programme.
- Provide hands-on support to gymnasts learning new skills and to help reduce/prevent falls.
- Ensure that matting and pits are used during learning phases and gymnasts are supported by strong physical planning and preparation.
- Attend child protection and safeguarding training as and when required.
- Ensure every session follows a yearly phase plan and each gymnast has clear goals for the year and each phase is broken down into clear steps to ensure consistency and progression.
- Ensure that all yearly phase plans are discussed and agreed in advance with the Gymnastic Head Performance Coach.
- A Level 5 Gymnastics Qualification but Level 4 coaches will be considered.
- To hold and maintain a Gold British Gymnastics insurance policy.
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS clearance and have a new DBS check completed every 3 years.
- To have a good understanding and adhere to the recommendations in the Whyte Review.

- Ensure that matting and pits are used during learning phases and gymnasts are supported by strong physical planning and preparation.
- Attend child protection and safeguarding training as and when required.
- Ensure every session follows a yearly phase plan and each gymnast has clear goals for the year and each phase is broken down into clear steps to ensure consistency and progression.
- Ensure that all yearly phase plans are discussed and agreed in advance with the Gymnastic Head Performance Coach.
- A Level 5 Gymnastics Qualification but Level 4 coaches will be considered.
- To hold and maintain a Gold British Gymnastics insurance policy.
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS clearance and have a new DBS check completed every 3 years.
- To have a good understanding and adhere to the recommendations in the Whyte Review.
- To be able to work unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.

Do want to help us ensure our Leisure centre is kept clean and tidy? If so, we are looking for Casual Cleaners to join our team at the Mountbatten Centre, our flagship leisure and event venue.
Located in the heart of Hilsea, Mountbatten is located just a short distance from Portsmouth’s city centre. Its large well-equipped gym, accessible by lift, has multiple zones with something to suit every activity preference and level of fitness. Dedicated training areas have lots of cardio kit to choose from, free weights, functional fitness spaces and more.
There is a 50 metre swimming pool (divided into two) with regular public swimming sessions, lane swimming, pool-based classes and lessons. There is also a smaller teaching pool for little ones and lessons. Mountbatten is home to Aqua Dash – a large pool inflatable course. Spa facilities include a sauna, spa bath and steam room.
· Undertake cleaning as per the cleaning schedule.
· Complete and ensure you sign off the task list as and when jobs are completed to the required standards.
· Ensure all cleaning materials and equipment are used and stored in line with health and safety and COSHH guidelines.
· Ensure you comply with all health and safety requirements.
· Attend training as and when required.

Mountbatten Centre

We are recruiting for an Exercise Referral Advisor to join our team at BH Live Active, working across two BH Live active sites in Portsmouth, the Mountbatten and Pyramids Centre.
A level 3 Exercise Referral qualification is essential, and experience in the field is desirable.
· Assist with the implementation of the Health and Fitness Programme provided for exercise referral patients at the nominated sites.
· Undertake 'Welcome Sessions' for new referral patients and provide follow-up one-to-one informal support.
· Carry out individual fitness testing and assessments for patients, as per the procedures and guidelines set out by the Health and Wellbeing Manager.
· Ensure the correct interpretation of the fitness tests and assessments, formulating safe and appropriate physical activity recommendations for each individual.
· Correctly identify situations where an individual’s safe exercise participation needs to be cleared by the Health and Wellbeing Manager or the programme’s GP.
· Assist with the administration of the programme as required.
· Attend and contribute to any relevant meetings as may be required including staff training.
· Assist with the continued promotion of the programmes as directed by the Health and Wellbeing Manager.
· Adopt the Centre’s Customer Care Policy and as such, assist and advise all customers in a polite and friendly manner to make their visit an enjoyable experience and thus ensure repeat visits.
