Hours 37.5 hours per week
Bridge College is seeking a passionate, resilient and innovative teacher to join our specialist college team supporting young people with learning difficulties, Autism and complex needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner who is committed to delivering inclusive, person-centred learning that enables every learner to achieve meaningful progress and develop independence, confidence and vocational skills.
About the Role
You will teach across the learner cohort from pre-entry through to Level 2, adapting your teaching practice to meet a wide range of learning, communication and sensory needs, including learners with PMLD, MLD and Autism.
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and well-structured learning sessions
- Develop innovative and progressive curricula linked to learner aspirations
- Create safe, stimulating and learner-centred classroom environments
- Monitor and evidence learner progress through RARPA and accredited pathways
- Develop and manage Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
- Work collaboratively with LSAs, managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Use total communication approaches and assistive technology to support learners
- Promote learner independence, achievement and wellbeing
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and professional practice
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- A Degree or Level 5 qualification in a relevant subject area
- PGCE/PGDE or another recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching young people with learning difficulties and Autism
- Experience developing curriculum and accredited learning
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to adapt teaching creatively to meet individual learner needs
- Excellent organisational skills and resilience
- Commitment to equality, inclusion and continuous professional development
