Research Assistant [Democratising Linguistic Access]

We are seeking a Research Assistant to provide Welsh language expertise to assist with checking of translation for the website, identifying and engaging with end-users and demonstrating the tools on DigiGrid (www.digigrid.cymru) to Welsh language end-users

Our project aims to enhance and expand a Welsh language text profiling toolkit and to develop accessible bilingual resources that demonstrate practical applications for educators and other users. Through collaboration with stakeholders and the redesign of the DigiGrid platform, the project will improve usability, visibility, and adoption of Welsh language technologies, creating a strong foundation for future impact and engagement.

The successful candidate will combine expertise in the Welsh language with an interest in language learning, bilingual communication, and digital language technologies. They will advise on the linguistic, pedagogic, and cultural dimensions of the project, ensuring that Proffiliadur and DigiGrid resources are accurate, accessible, and relevant to Welsh-speaking and bilingual audiences, while supporting the wider aims of Welsh language technology adoption and impact generation.
