We’re looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic Public Affairs Administrator to join the team here at Blue Cross. In this vital role, you’ll be the administrative backbone of our Public Affairs team, helping us advocate for change, engage with policymakers, and give a voice to the animals who need us most. This is a part time, fixed term role for 12 months. This is also a hybrid role with 40% of your week based in the office.

This is one role with flexibility to be based from either our London Victoria or Burford office.

More about the role

As our Public Affairs Administrator, you will also be heavily involved in bringing our campaigns to life through a variety of engaging events and conferences. You will provide hands-on administrative support to coordinate speakers, manage guest invitations, and oversee the logistical details with venues and internal teams. Whether it is handling delegate registrations beforehand or providing on-the-day support to ensure everything runs without a hitch, you will be the organisational force behind our events. Additionally, you will assist in drafting and editing content for newsletters, digital platforms, and social media, preparing the essential materials that support our wider engagement activities.

You will also be right at the heart of our campaigning efforts, ensuring the team runs smoothly and efficiently. You will take the lead in providing critical administrative and coordination support, particularly when it comes to our parliamentary engagement. A major part of your day-to-day will involve coordinating an All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), where you will handle everything from preparing compliance documentation to communicating directly with MPs, Peers, and their teams. You will act as the secretariat for these vital meetings, scheduling diaries, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and keeping our stakeholder records impeccably up to date.

This is a part time role working 21 hours a week, and these hours can be across three, four or five days a week. This is a fixed term role for 12 months. This is also a hybrid role with 40% of your week based in the office.

About you

We are looking for a strong administrator who thrives on organization, manages multiple tasks with ease, and keeps a sharp attention to detail while maintaining accurate records. Because you will be liaising with everyone from internal teams to parliamentarians and external suppliers, you must be a confident and natural communicator, both verbally and in writing, with a proven ability to build positive working relationships across the board. A genuine interest in public affairs, policy, or parliamentary processes is desirable.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable using digital systems and Microsoft Office to keep our trackers and stakeholder information perfectly organized. You should be a fantastic team player who is ready to support our shared objectives and jump in wherever help is needed, from post-event feedback collection to drafting briefings. Most importantly, you share our core Blue Cross values and our vision that every pet deserves a healthy, happy life, and you want your daily work to actively reflect that mission!
