The vacancy

We are seeking a Programme Manager to join NHS Employers, leading work with the organisation to embed organisational development (OD) and continuous improvement into staff experience.

About the role

You’ll help enhance working lives, improve retention and support better patient care. Reporting to an Assistant Director, you’ll work with the Staff Experience and OD teams to design and deliver approaches to support employers to embed OD/improvement principles to work to improve staff experience in line with the delivery of the 10 Year Workforce Plan.

Collaborating across teams, you’ll ensure our support offer is relevant, timely and impactful, helping NHS organisations become great places to work.

About you

As well as an understanding of key retention priorities, insights, challenges and enablers to good work and staff experience you will also have experience in an OD role working in a complex organisation.

You will also have:

  • Associate level knowledge and skills in OD, design and navigating change.
  • A track record of developing effective and productive professional working relationships both within and outside the NHS, including at a senior level, and engaging with employers to improve workforce and people practices, including facilitation, influencing skills and delivery presentation to external audiences.
  • Experience of robustly evaluating activity to demonstrate impact
  • Experience in generating written content, briefings, reports and guidance for large scale use.
