Our professional counselling services support children, young people and families through some of life’s toughest challenges, including anxiety, bereavement, trauma, and family breakdown. We offer a flexible range of support tailored to each child’s needs, including face-to-face sessions in our centres, school-based counselling, and secure online counselling for young people and parents. ABOUT THE ROLE
- Gain hands-on experience delivering counselling to children and young people in a primary school setting
- Develop your clinical skills through regular supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice with experienced counsellors
- Apply your academic learning in real-life therapeutic work, building confidence and professional capability
- Make a meaningful difference by providing early support that improves children’s emotional wellbeing and resilience
- Be part of a supportive, values-driven team within a leading children’s charity
- Develop a strong foundation for your future counselling career, including experience working within safeguarding and multidisciplinary environments
ABOUT YOU
- You are currently studying a counselling qualification (Level 5 or above) and are ready to begin or progress your placement
- You are passionate about supporting children and young people and making a positive difference to their wellbeing
- You bring empathy, warmth, and the ability to build safe, trusting, and boundaried relationships
- You are reflective and open to feedback, using supervision to support your learning and development
- You understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality, and working within professional and ethical frameworks
- You are motivated, reliable, and committed to developing your skills and confidence in a real-world counselling environment
