The Pastor and Location Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the life and leadership of our Guildford Location across Sundays, midweek ministry, pastoral care, volunteer leadership, and operational coordination.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both people and organisation, someone who can pastor and encourage teams while also helping ensure the smooth running of church life behind the scenes. From supporting volunteers and creating welcoming Sunday environments, to coordinating events, systems, and pastoral processes, this role helps strengthen and support the overall health of the location.
Working closely with the Guildford Location Pastor, you will help build a strong church community where people feel connected, cared for, equipped, and inspired to grow in their faith and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Sunday Services & Team Leadership
- Support and oversee Sunday teams including bump in, bump out, foyer, hosts, connections, prayer and kids setup
- Work alongside Team Leaders throughout the week to ensure teams are prepared, scheduled, supported, and communicated with effectively
- Build strong relationships with volunteers and leaders through encouragement, pastoral support, and leadership development
- Help create welcoming and connected Sunday environments where new people feel seen and supported in their next steps
- Support key moments within church life including baptisms, baby dedications, and special services
- Assist with hosting, MC responsibilities, and preaching where required
- Ensure teams are informed and aligned around church updates, events, and key dates
- Complete Sunday reporting and support smooth venue operations each week
Pastoral & Community Support
- Support the Location Pastor in providing pastoral care across the church community
- Assist Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and volunteers in the outworking of their leadership responsibilities
- Help connect and integrate new people into the life of the church throughout the week
- Support follow up processes and ChurchSuite workflows relating to community engagement and integration
- Respond appropriately to pastoral needs and escalate where required
- Help build healthy community culture across teams, groups, and church life
Operations & Administration
- Support the planning and coordination of midweek events, gatherings, and ministry activities
- Assist with day to day administration including purchases, invoices, volunteer expenses, reporting, and communication coordination
- Maintain location systems, communication links, and operational resources
- Coordinate church van servicing and maintenance where required
- Support the effective use of systems including ChurchSuite, Concur, IRIS, and Microsoft 365
- Assist with onboarding, safeguarding processes, and DBS compliance for volunteers
Venue, Health & Safety
- Maintain strong communication with venue contacts and support operational coordination on Sundays
- Act as the main on site contact for venue related matters during services
- Ensure venue documentation, contracts, and invoices are managed appropriately
- Support health and safety processes including risk assessments, incident reporting, and venue compliance
- Ensure adequate Host Team support for evacuation procedures and venue safety requirements
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about local church, loves building healthy teams, and enjoys serving both practically and pastorally.
Experience & Skills
- Experience serving or leading within a church, ministry, or pastoral environment
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and relational skills
- Confidence working with volunteers, teams, and leaders
- Understanding of church culture, pastoral care, and volunteer leadership
- Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solution focused in live service environments
- Comfortable using systems and technology including Microsoft 365 and database platforms
- Awareness of safeguarding and health & safety responsibilities within church or community settings
Helpful but Not Essential
- Formal theological or ministry training
- Safeguarding, First Aid, or Health & Safety training
- Experience in event coordination or project management

Working Pattern
- Full Time | 37.5 hours per week
- Tuesday to Friday + Sundays
- Hybrid working - London Office with attendance at Guildford Sundays and relevant meetings/events
