About Us:

CWA is dedicated to providing life-changing support and safe accommodation to women and children experiencing domestic abuse. We are very passionate about our work and we are immensely proud of the support we have offered in Cambridge since 1977. We are seeking a resourceful and motivated outreach support worker to help deliver our life-saving community support to survivors of domestic abuse.

The Role:

As an Outreach Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to women in the community who are experiencing or recovering from domestic abuse, delivering one‑to‑one and group support, assessing risk, developing safety plans, and offering advocacy to help survivors access housing, legal, welfare, health, and other essential services. The role involves maintaining accurate case records, working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies, upholding strong safeguarding and confidentiality standards, and contributing to a high‑quality survivor‑centred service based on feminist values. You will be directly responsible to the Outreach Manager and will work as part of a small, highly supportive team which includes the Outreach Manager and three part-time Outreach Support Workers.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a compassionate, resilient, and highly motivated individual with experience supporting women affected by gender-based violence. You’ll be able to build trusting, professional relationships, assess risk, and empower survivors to make informed choices. Strong communication, organisational skills, professional boundaries and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential, along with a commitment to trauma-informed support, confidentiality, and anti‑discriminatory practice.
