Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of just under 180 organisations which provide over 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. Purpose of the Trust Fundraising Officer role:
The Trust Fundraising Officer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a rolling programme of prospect identification, research and nurturing of relationships, specifically for Trusts and Foundations. The post holder maximises support from these fundraising streams, drafting and submitting applications, meeting with funders and other approaches to prospective donors to increase income.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Trust Fundraising Officer:
- Lead on the completion of core and restricted funding applications to large and small Trusts and Foundations, up to £100k, contributing to the team’s annual fundraising targets.
- Assist in the development of, and help to implement, a strategy for maximising income from Trusts and Foundations partnerships.
- Be responsible for maintaining a portfolio of potential funders through regular research, identifying new income streams from Trusts and Foundations and building relationships with those funders.
- Maintain the Trust prospect pipeline, ensuring information is accurate and up to date and risks to the pipeline are flagged
- Lead on the development and nurturing of relationships with Trusts and Foundations identified as viable prospects.
- Use research findings to support the fundraising team in a range of formats, from detailed briefings to short biographies.
- Support Trust and Foundation fundraising colleagues with compiling large fundraising bids.
- Maintain the funding reporting schedule, including responsibility for maintaining records on all reporting and re-application deadlines, working closely with Finance and project teams as required.
- Where applicable, support with the development and nurturing of high value individuals, on occasion to include planning and attending fundraising events.
- Occasionally support with recruitment and relationship management of small corporate partnerships as required.
- Work with Heads of Department across the organisation to support with building robust business cases to meet organisational needs.
What we are looking for in our Trust Fundraising Officer:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role or a desire to develop their transferrable skills
- Experience of writing bids, applications or proposals.
- Experience of writing detailed reports and using data to demonstrate impact.
- Experience of undertaking high quality research and developing targeted proposals for presentation.
- Experience of developing and maintaining long term relationships with supporters or clients.
- Excellent written skills.
- Ability to write persuasive reports or applications.
- Research skills and ability to effectively summarise complex information.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with people at all levels, on the telephone, face to face and in writing, together with the ability to make presentations to external partners.
- Demonstrable initiative and determination.
- Proven ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Child Support Worker Job Description
Designation: Child Support Worker
Hours: 30 hours over 4 days Mon-Fri
Salary = £26,824 – £27,694 pro rata
Reporting to: Refuge Manager/Family Inclusion Lead
WHWR works with women and children to overcome the trauma of witnessing or experiencing domestic abuse. Child Support Workers help children to rebuild their lives. They support children to process their thoughts and feelings along with supporting mothers to re-establish their bond with their child following abuse.
Job Role:
· To deliver a trauma-informed program of support for children living in refuge after experiencing domestic abuse.
· To empower children to build positive relationships.
· To give children a voice and help them understand their emotions.
· To develop each child’s interests and create an environment where they can relax and have fun.
· To run trauma informed play sessions and plan and deliver celebrations, trips/outings for children and young children with their families.
· To be able to adapt to fluctuating needs of children, including children with special educational needs, mental health needs and challenging behaviour.
· To build a supportive relationship with the mothers and liaise with them directly about their child’s achievements and challenges.
· To ensure safeguarding matters related to vulnerable adults of children are brought immediately to the attention of the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
· To maintain the security and wellbeing of residents within the premises and raise any breaches of security immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
· To regularly communicate with other refuge staff, to contribute to weekly team meetings and be familiar with the day-to-day running of the refuge.
· To adhere to WHWR policies and procedures.
· To keep concise and accurate records on our electronic recording system which are updated in a timely manner and feature the voice of the child.
· To undertake general refuge duties and accept delegated duties as appropriate.
· To partake in our duty on call rota and be available for emergency response.

You will have a can-do attitude, work with passion and drive and be able to think outside of the box to help our children and families feel safe, empowered and increase their overall wellbeing in their daily lives. You will work in a trauma informed way, with a holistic centred approach, assessing families’ individual needs to create tailored support plans to safeguard and reduce the risk of further harm, offering both practical and emotional support to families in both one to one and group settings and through partnership work.
You will have good written and verbal communication to help maintain accurate records and ensure these are reviewed with families to track their progress. Within this role you will promote inclusivity, adhere to standards such as safeguarding and confidentiality and work with integrity to make a difference to the lives of families and children accessing our services.
Full clean driving licence is essential.

The Treasurer will ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations and to make sure that the organisation pursues its objects as defined in its governing document.
The Treasurer’s role is also to work in partnership with the Chief Executive and Director of Finance helping them achieve the aims of the organisation and maintain fiscal health, accountability and stability.

Purpose of the Data and Directory Assistant:
The Data and Directory Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and carrying out data collection and data entry activities to maintain the Routes to Support directory of information on local violence against women and girls (VAWG) services and refuge vacancies. This will include being initial contact for internal and external queries about Routes to Support and following standard processes to maintain the accuracy of information in the directory. The Data and Directory Assistant will be diligent with details and responsive to internal and external need, with guidance and support from the wider Membership, Research and Evaluation team.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Data and Directory Assistant:
- Maintain the Routes to Support database of information on local violence against women and girls (VAWG) services and refuge vacancies
- Be the initial contact for the Routes to Support inbox, using email template responses to respond to routine enquiries about Women’s Aid’s directory resources, maintaining subscriptions and providing support to users, escalating complex enquiries to the Senior Officer where relevant.
- Compile a list of services eligible for inclusion in Routes to Support for the Senior Officer to review; follow processes to support the administration of applications including filing application documentation and sharing with the Senior Officer for review; and carry out all associated tasks to add services to the directory.
- Maintain the accuracy of VAWG service information in the directory in line with processes for updating and checking entries.
- Distribute training materials for users of Women’s Aid’s directory resources.
- Coordinate the invoicing process for subscriptions to Women’s Aid directory resources.
- Support the promotion of the Routes to Support project including providing content for member’s bulletins, ensuring web copy is up to date and assisting with other activities promoting Routes to Support.
- Support with work of the Routes to Support Steering Group, including meeting scheduling, preparing papers and taking minutes.
- Ensure that service information on Routes to Support is kept updated and accurate, moderating update requests and liaising with local VAWG services, and collecting data as required.
- Distribute Freedom of Information Requests to local authorities, including sending the request to relevant authorities and processing responses.
- Support with other data collection and data entry work as required, following internal process documentation under the supervision of Senior Officers.
What we are looking for in our Data and Directory Assistant:
- A non-judgmental approach to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse and a clear understanding of the gendered nature of violence against women and girls.
- Awareness of the experiences of women from a diverse range of backgrounds and different needs.
- Data-entry experience
- Experience in communication and promotion with a range of audiences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone manner
- Good level of computer literacy (including internet and database applications and Microsoft office).
- Accurate data-entry skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative: initiate, plan and prioritise work, work to tight deadlines and respond to urgent unplanned demands.
