The opportunity

Are you passionate about building trusted relationships, inspiring positive change, and supporting people to overcome barriers and move forward in their lives?

The Wise Group is a leading social enterprise delivering Relational Mentoring across employment, poverty prevention, justice, and community support. We work alongside people facing complex challenges, helping them build confidence, stability, and long-term opportunities.

We are looking for a Mentor Advocate to join our Durham Women’s Trailblazer service - supporting women with multiple and interconnected barriers including poverty, poor mental health, isolation, trauma, caring responsibilities, and justice involvement.

This is not a one-size-fits-all role. Every woman’s journey is different.

Using our Relational Mentoring approach, you will work one-to-one with women to build trust, identify strengths, reduce barriers, and support progression at a pace that works for them. Support may include improving wellbeing, increasing confidence, accessing local services, building routines, preparing for training or employment, and strengthening social connections.

You will manage your own caseload and work flexibly across communities, building strong local partnerships and connecting women to the right support at the right time.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Builds positive and professional relationships easily

  • Is compassionate, adaptable, and solutions-focused

  • Understands the importance of trauma-informed and person-centred support

  • Can motivate and empower people experiencing complex challenges

  • Is confident using digital systems including Microsoft 365 and CRM systems

As part of the Wise Group, you’ll join an enterprise committed to social justice, innovation, and creating lasting change in communities.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
