About us

Our purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Our lifeboat volunteers and lifeguards risk their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning.

We’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join our busy Engagement Marketing Team. This team is key to RNLI growth. They own the organisation’s fundraising in aid of events and physical third party events run nationally and regionally, helping to grow community participation, inspire a new wave of supporters and steward them on a measurable lifetime journey.

Your role

As a Marketing Manager in the Engagement Marketing Team, you will be focussed on:

  • Planning, development, delivery and evaluation of the products you are responsible for in order to deliver their targets.
  • Accountable for income and expenditure management across the fundraising products you own, including assisting the SMM in reporting, planning and reforecasting.
  • Ensuring that the Marketing Executive is supported, developed, and motivated.
  • Ensuring all activity is compliant with the Fundraising Code and Data Governance guidelines as well as keeping up to date on sector and industry wide trends and updates.
  • Working with the Marketing and Visitor Experience Leads and Fundraising and Partnership Leads in region to align our events programmes and initiatives to create synergy across campaign messaging, fundraising platform usage and supporter acquisition and journeys.
  • Developing medium/long term growth plans for your programmes and products.
  • Maintaining excellent and effective relationships with other internal stakeholders and ensuring that campaign plans are integrated with RNLI activity across multiple departments.
  • Managing resources through our internal creative, social, and digital teams and working with external agencies and other specialist suppliers.

About you

As an experienced marketing executive or existing manager, you’ll be comfortable planning multi-channel campaigns as well as working with members of the wider Engagement Team to help develop regional initiatives in order to grow community engagement and income

You’ll be passionate about the supporter and volunteer experience, keeping them front of mind while delivering fundraising products which generate a strong return on investment for the organisation and a superb supporter experience.

To be considered for this role you’ll need to have:

  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Demonstrable experience overseeing integrated multi-channel supporter led campaigns, regional initiatives and supporter acquisition development including managing media plans and budgets in order to achieve strong financial results.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion to seize opportunities and overcome challenges to deliver an outstanding donor-centric experience for our supporters.
  • Ability to work in an organised and structured manner balancing your time appropriately to meet short-term and longer-term goals.
