Growkids Project Co-ordinator Role Description
To co-ordinate the day to day running of the Growkids project. To oversee the development of the project and the team of volunteers that runs it.
As a church we seek to express Gods love and kindness in practical ways to meet the needs of those around us and make a difference. The Growkids Project accepts donations of good quality/ new clothing and equipment for 0-12 years olds and give it to those in need for free. Its sorted, cleaned and ordered for any family in need of support to attend a session and choose the items they need without referral. We create a welcoming environment, breaking social isolation and the stigma of asking for help with dignity, generosity, empowerment and an invitation to community. We currently run Growbaby 0-5 and Growkids 0-12 in 3 locations in Norfolk.
This role involves playing an active part in the staff team of Gateway Vineyard church.
Post Holder Responsibilities
To grow and develop the reach of the Growkids project
To oversee the weekly operation of Growkids and Growbaby, organising effectively the smooth running of the project in different locations.
Effectively I.R.T.M.D.N (Identify, Recruit, Train, Monitor, Deploy, Nurture) and build healthy passionate teams who carry the vision for compassion ministry and Growkids
Lead, support, equip and work through a growing team of volunteer leaders and team members focused on developing compassion ministry in line with Gateways vision and values
Contribute to the identification and development of compassion initiatives including Love Christmas
Liaise with agencies, stakeholders and wider contacts, representing Gateway in the community and further afield as appropriate
Participate in the wider staff team of Gateway Vineyard
Line manage the Compassion Administrator
Reporting to
Nominated Pastor, Gateway Vineyard Church
Terms
This post is 15 hours a week with a starting salary in the region of 10,400. 2 days a week plus some evenings. The role is initially funded for 12 months with a probation period of 3 months.
The post holder will be entitled to 10 days annual leave
The post holder will be entitled to receive a pension contribution of 7%
The role is subject to a full DBS check
Person Specification
*Have a personal Christian faith and live a lifestyle consistent with the values of your Christian faith
Be loyal to the Senior Pastors, Leadership Team, Gateway Vineyard and the Vineyard
Churches movement
Experience and knowledge of the Growkids Project
Experience of leading and building team
A passion to equip people others to see families being welcomed , needs met and outward focused
Ability to communicate vision, teach and train, delegate and work through others
Qualified to A-Level or similar OR hold and maintain a qualification relevant to the post
Be Computer literate [Microsoft office, internet, databases]
Organised and self motivated
Able to work as a part of a team
A working knowledge of safeguarding
Excellent interpersonal skills
