Salary: £26,325 per annum

Job Introduction
- Repton Prep are welcoming applications from enthusiastic and high-energy candidates to join our outstanding Grounds & Gardens team as a Grounds Person.
Reporting to the Head of Grounds and Gardens, you will be a proactive, ‘can-do’ individual, with excellent attention to detail and a desire to contribute positively within a team who are looking to constantly improve. You must be a team player able to deliver first class outdoor sports facilities, playing surfaces, grounds and gardens that are exceptionally well-maintained, prepared and ready in all respects for teachers, pupils and Enterprise to use safely.

Main Responsibilities
Join our hardworking and forward-thinking Grounds & Gardens Team and play a vital part in maintaining the exceptional outdoor environment that Repton is proud of.
In this hands-on role, you’ll help deliver first-class outdoor sports facilities, playing surfaces, grounds, and gardens, ensuring everything is immaculately maintained, well-prepared, and safe for pupils, staff, and Repton Enterprise users.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high-quality sporting facilities including cricket pitches, football fields, artificial/hybrid surfaces, and athletics areas in line with best practices.
- Carry out all horticultural practices to include maintaining established herbaceous borders, pruning, pest and disease control, plant division and propagation, designing and implementing planting schemes, as well as annual mulching and weed control, compost management, lawn care, formal hedge cutting practices, strimming, leaf sweeping, planting and soil enhancement.
- Help with the maintenance of all ancillary areas, driveways, car parks and paths including clearing leaves and other detritus, moss and weed killing.
Health & Safety
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all site users.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and that all H&S concerns are reported and addressed.
- Identify and report equipment faults promptly to the Head of G&G.

About Repton School
Repton is the ancient capital of Mercia, and the School, founded in 1557 from a bequest from Sir John Port of Etwall, was established on the site of a 7th century Anglo-Saxon Benedictine abbey and latterly a 12th century Augustinian priory and the School today incorporates many of the original buildings from the estate.
