Grants Officer - Organisations
This is a role for someone who likes getting into the detail and making fair, well-informed decisions that stand up to scrutiny. As Grants Officer, you’ll be assessing funding applications from charities and non-profit organisations working with the Armed Forces community across the UK. You’ll look at what’s being proposed, how it would be delivered, and whether it aligns with our funding criteria, then help shape clear recommendations that go to panel. It’s structured, but never repetitive, and you’ll see a real mix of projects, ideas and organisations.
Come and be part of the leading Armed Forces charity, making a difference to the lives of those who have served to keep us safe and protect our way of life.
You’ll be working closely with applicants, colleagues and subject matter experts to make sure decisions are properly informed and well supported. That includes guiding organisations through the process where needed, asking the right questions, and making sure submissions are robust before they reach decision stage. There’s also a practical side to the role, from maintaining accurate records and supporting grant committees, to visiting funded projects and seeing first-hand how delivery is working on the ground.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable managing a busy workload, can switch between tasks without losing attention to detail, and communicates clearly with a wide range of people. Experience in grants, welfare, charity or assessment based roles would be useful, but just as important is the ability to think things through, handle information responsibly and work in a way that’s consistent and fair. If you prefer roles where you’re trusted to make sound judgments, keep things moving, and work with a wide range of organisations, this will suit you.
You will be contracted to your home address. You will be expected to work both there and on a mobile basis at other locations in the South with occasional travel (incl. for monthly team meetings) beyond this area.
