Role Title	French Teacher, Classes 1 - 8
ReportingRelationships	Reports To: SMT	No subordinates
Location	Ringwood Waldorf Steiner School
Role Purpose	Inspire and motivate class children in their learning by delivering ageappropriate, thought provoking lessons that capture pupil's imaginationand develop a love of learning languages. Engage and encourage thechildren through enthusiasm and inspirational teaching techniques tohelp then attain competency in the French language as per theirage/class expectations.

Role Accountabilities

1 Teach, in an age appropriateway, the French language tochildren in classes 1-8	• Plan, initiate and guide study in French which meetscurriculum requirements per class age● Foster class/age appropriate thought, discussion, reading,comprehension, speaking, listening, writing in the Frenchlanguage0 Undertake appropriate preparation, syllabi, study and trainingas necessary for the effective delivery of the curriculumexpectationsPlan sequential curricula, with each year's course of studybuilding upon previous year's work and toward the followingyear's work and expectations
2.EEnsure an effective monitoringmechanism is in place perclass to ensure the ongoingachievement of yearlycurricular expectations	Supervise, manage and assess the class children in accordancewith their age and abilities• Create age/class appropriate assessments and evaluate theirattainment accordinglyProvide individual subject reports as and when required0 Provide assessment results/teaching update to the SMT asrequired
3. Perform class subject statutoryrequirements	Responsible for record keeping in accordance with statutoryand school requirements Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with the schoolpupil code of conduct• Adhere to safeguarding legislation and school policy at alltimes

4.Maintain an involvement in thewider teaching staff andcommunity initiatives andadhere to all school policiesand procedures			Communicate regularly and constructively with peers,administrators, students and parentsContribute to the Foreign language teachers in deliberationsand collaborative efforts as relevantAttend Teacher meetings and other school meetings asappropriateAdhere to the school's policies, procedures and support theirimplementation including but not limited to the Code ofConduct and the ethos, principles and objectives of the schooland teaching staff

	QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
	Knowledge andExperience	Demonstrate a fluency in the French Language and a proficiency for teaching.Ability to build rapport, engage young people and inspire with their enthusiasmfor learning. Strong subject knowledge
	Education andQualifications	Preferably Waldorf language teacher trained.Ideally a native speaker. Must have experience of working with children of the required age group.
	Job SpecificTechnical Skills	Display a love of teaching and a passion for the French language that serves tomotivate and encourage students. Strong knowledge of French culture and historyDetailed planning and strong organisational skills
