Location: West Sussex (Hybrid)
Office base: 27-29 Beach Road, Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN17 5JA

Hours:  20 hours per week (Fixed-Term until 31st March 2028)
Flexible Monday – Friday (Ad Hoc weekends for events only)Salary: £12.71 per hour

We provide support and care to children, families and adults across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Surrey and the London Borough of Bexley. Our services include registered care homes; supported living; community outreach; day services, including pathways to employment; children and young people’s groups and support; specialist support; and free online support for families and carers across the South-East. About the Role:Are you passionate about supporting families and using your lived experience to help others feel understood, empowered, and connected?

At Aspens Charities, we walk alongside families supporting neurodivergent individuals, people with learning disabilities and those with complex needs. We are looking for a compassionate and relatable individual to join our Family Support team as a Family Support Worker.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with lived experience of neurodivergence - either personally or as a parent, carer or who wants to support other families through shared understanding and practical guidance.

You will:

  • Provide emotional and practical support to parents, carers, and families
  • Help families understand their rights, entitlements, and available support
  • Signpost to local services, community resources, and useful information
  • Deliver support through:
    • One-to-one sessions (online or face-to-face)
    • Group sessions and drop-ins
    • Workshops and community events
  • Share accessible, family-friendly information
  • Encourage wellbeing and resilience for families and carers

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel independently to different locations (driving licence and access to vehicle is essential)
  • Access to a vehicle with appropriate business insurance
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality and professional conduct

  • Bluebell Cafe and animal farm, Pembury

    Come and visit Aspens' Bluebell Cafe near Pembury Village, just outside Tunbridge Wells in Kent. Our Cafe is open Monday-Friday 10am-4pm and serves hot drinks, meals and snacks.
