Facility Manager

We are looking to appoint two proactive and confident Facility Managers to support the day-to-day running of our sport and fitness facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their leisure career. You’ll build operational management proficiency, shape the customer experience, and play a key role in the smooth running of a busy, community‑focused facility.

As a key member of our operations team, you will:

Act as Manager on Duty, ensuring LSBU Group facilities operate safely and efficiently
Oversee opening and closing procedures
Support continuous service improvement through internal and external audits
Ensure consistent health and safety compliance across all activities
Contribute to income generation and occupancy targets
Monitor, track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
Work closely with senior managers to maintain and improve service quality.

You’ll be part of a rota covering LSBU Active’s full opening hours:

Mon – Fri: 7am – 10pm
Sat – Sun: 10am – 6pm
Bank Holidays & University Closure Days: 10am – 4pm

What you will bring

We’re looking for someone with energy, professionalism, and a strong background in sport, leisure or fitness operations. You will have:

Experience working in a leisure or sports environment
Strong commitment to delivering first-class customer service
Proven experience acting as Manager on Duty
Practical knowledge of health and safety legislation in a sport setting
First aid knowledge and qualification or willingness to obtain.

You will take pride in maintaining high standards and contributing to the ongoing success of our Customer Service Excellence, Health & Safety, and Quest accreditation performance.
