Deputy Manager - Children's Home

Swindon
Full-time

Listed today

Every child deserves a safe, loving home – and at CCP, we believe every child should feel truly cared for, valued and full of hope.

As a long-established charity, CCP has spent decades supporting children, young people, families and vulnerable adults through some of the most challenging times in their lives. We are now preparing to open Children's Homes in partnership with Swindon Borough Council, creating safe, stable and nurturing homes for children and young people who need care close to their community. We are looking for a compassionate and committed Deputy Manager to help shape this important new service alongside our Responsible Individual and Registered Manager.

This is a rare opportunity to help build a home from the very beginning - a home rooted in kindness, trust, healing and high-quality are. At CCP, our focus is always on people, relationships and lasting change, and we are proud to bring a trauma-informed, person-centred and deeply compassionate approach to everything we do. In this role, you will help to create a place where children feel safe, listened to, understood and encouraged to grow in confidence and independence.

As part of your role within our home, you will:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the leadership, management and day-to-day operation of the Children's Home
  • Help ensure the home consistently meets all statutory, safeguarding and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver high-quality, solution-focused care in line with Ofsted's Quality Standards
  • Promote a culture where children's voices are central to all decision-making
  • Bring creativity into everyday life by exploring fresh ways to engage, inspire and connect, whether through imaginative activities at home, within the community, or during problem-solving moments
  • Demonstrate patience and consistency, supporting children and young people through challenges with empathy and a calm, steady approach, even when things don't go as planned
  • Recognise and celebrate progress, especially the small steps and meaningful moments
  • Support the development of practical life skills that foster independence, such as managing routines, shopping, cooking, communicating and making life choices
  • Enhance overall quality of life by ensuring every young person feels safe, listened to and empowered to be themselves

We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience working with children, young people and families either as a deputy manager or senior support worker, with proven ability in leading a team
  • Strong understanding of contextual safeguarding
  • Good knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards
  • Flexibility with regards to the rota and the changing needs of the children and young people
  • A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare and a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • A full UK driving licence and access to their own transport

No two days are the same, and the work you will do is truly going to make a difference. It is about tapping into each young person's individual needs, personality and potential, and supporting them to move towards a brighter, more positive future.

This is a meaningful and rewarding role where relationships matter and small moments can make a lifelong difference. Every day, you will have to offer reassurance, encouragement and consistency, helping children and young people feel safe enough to heal, grow and look ahead with hope.

In return, you will join a values-led charity with a strong sense of purpose, a caring culture and a genuine commitment to doing the very best for children, young people and families. Alongside a competitive benefits package, you will be part of a team that believes compassion, respect and stability can change lives.

If you want to be part of a charity that puts people at the heart of everything we do, and you are ready to help create a home filled with care, stability and opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
