The role

The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is the National Conservatoire of Wales.  We have a bright and confident future as a national anchor institution, and the convenor for the arts in Wales.

Following exceptional achievements in recent years that have seen the College’s profile grow significantly, and the largest gifts in its history attracted, the newly-formed Advancement team is now entering an exciting new chapter.

The Advancement team mission statement is to communicate with our community to make excellent things happen for the College and beyond.  The team is responsible for RWCMD having one voice and one narrative when building positive relationships with our communities and unlocking their support.

The newly-appointed Director of Advancement is a member of the College’s Senior Leadership Team.  The Advancement team will be at the heart of delivering for the College against its new strategy, including strengthening brand recognition, driving development of its income streams for maximum impact, developing its case for support, laying ever-firmer data-led foundations, engaging with more of its communities, and student recruitment.

With a number of new roles coming on stream simultaneously, this is a unique opportunity and special moment to join a fast-developing, positive, and driven team.

The Content & Communications Officer plans, creates and delivers engaging, high-quality content across digital platforms to tell the story of RWCMD.

The role develops and implements channel-specific content approaches, linked to the communications strategy, to support organisational priorities.  The postholder proactively identifies opportunities for storytelling and audience engagement, ensuring activity aligns with agreed messaging, campaigns and brand guidelines - working to strengthen the College’s profile and deepen engagement with key audiences.

A creative and collaborative partner, the postholder manages day-to-day content planning across digital channels and works with colleagues and student content creators to deliver compelling content and campaigns that reflect the College’s values, strategy and case for support.

This is a full-time position. We offer a number of employee benefits including an excellent pension scheme and generous annual leave. Discover the advantages of working with us.
