About Us
Founded in 1997, GamCare is a leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. We run the National Gambling Helpline, deliver free treatment services across multiple regions in Great Britain, and raise awareness through a range of prevention programmes.
The Role
This is an exciting new opportunity to join GamCare as our Business Development / Bid Manager. You will lead the set-up of end-to-end bid management systems, write compelling submissions, and engage internal and external stakeholders to secure winning bids for new and existing opportunities through statutory commissioning.
GamCare’s core services (Helpline, treatment and prevention) are now funded through statutory commissioners. We need to retain these services when they are re-commissioned, while also identifying and developing new opportunities to increase our reach and income. You will strengthen our systems, processes and workflows, building on the foundations already in place. This is a transformation role, with significant scope to develop this critical function and bring your experience from a similar senior position.
About You
You will be systems-focused, highly organised and resourceful, with strong collaboration skills and excellent attention to detail. Comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic environment, you will have a proven track record of producing high-quality bids and securing high-value funding. You will bring strong coordination skills, alongside a commercial and growth mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline management: Research, identify, and qualify relevant new tender opportunities via common portals
- Bid/No-bid decisions: Lead discussions for opportunities, assessing feasibility, risk, and strategic alignment.
- Technical writing: Produce high-quality, persuasive, and compliant tender responses, method statements, and business cases.
- Win themes: Develop and embed unique selling points as ‘golden threads’ throughout proposals.
- Subject matter experts: Collaborate with relevant staff to gather technical information to support bid development.
- Financial modelling: Work with Finance and service leads to create competitive, value-for-money pricing strategies
Benefits You Can Enjoy
- 33 days basic annual leave entitlement per annum (pro-rated for part-time colleagues) including bank holidays, which increases with service
- A generous Pension Scheme - we contribute 6% and you contribute 2%
- Discretionary company sick pay from day one of service
- Employee Assistance Programme – 24-hour support
Further Information
We particularly welcome applications from candidates with lived experience of gambling harms, as well as those with backgrounds in the third sector and in areas such as social impact, health and wellbeing, addictions and mental health.
