Hours:31.2 per week (4 days p/wk)Reports to:Head of Scenic Art
Role Summary Assisting the Head of Scenic Art in producing Scenic items to a high standard.
Contributing to the safe and efficient running of the Paintshop.
Main Responsibilities Taking a hands-on role in painting and texturing scenic items under ●
instruction from the Head of Scenic Art Working to design and installation deadlines as per production and ● technical schedules Working long or anti-social hours as required to meet deadlines where applicable
Contributing to the safe operation of the paintshop and working practices Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment with some housekeeping duties
Assisting in Construction workshop or Props dept when called upon to do so Creating paint samples and purchasing materials if requested
Ensuring that sustainable methods are considered, developed and implemented where possible
Working alongside casual,freelance, student and apprentice colleagues, instructing or taking a lead where necessary • Attending relevant production and design meetings where required

Person Specification

You must have…

• Experience of working in a busy Scenic environment

• Proven ability to produce a high standard of work

• Ability to take direction

• Ability to work from scale models and technical drawings

• Good knowledge of scenic tools and materials and techniques

• Evidenced ability to adhere to tight deadlines

• Flexibility, adaptability and diligence
