Archaeology Support Assistant
Purpose of the Placement
London is a city with thousands of years of history and that heritage is visible today in our historic buildings, ancient landscapes and buried archaeology. The Greater London Archaeological Advisory Service (GLAAS) provides advice to London Boroughs on how to manage their heritage while the city continues to evolve with planning for new developments.
Join us to learn more about the fascinating story of London, how you can read it in today’s architecture and archaeology, and the importance of working with other Historic England teams and external stakeholders to get the best results for our shared heritage.
We manage the Greater London Historic Environment Record (GLHER), a vital database of the capital’s history and archaeology, and you will learn how this archive is constantly updated to ensure we provide reliable advice to professionals and the public.
