MAIN PURPOSE:

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collate emails received daily, prioritise according to urgency/importance and action to ensure deadlines are met and completed in a timely manner.
- May have cash/cheque handling responsibility for service/unit/department and ensuring that all records/banking duties are accurate, carried out timely and processed for month end reporting.
- May be required to undertake purchase ledger responsibilities and all associated duties as required.
- Service/department/unit systematic filing (electronic and/or manual) of necessary paperwork in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Assist in dealing with telephone calls as required, dealing with telephone enquiries in a professional manner, directing calls as appropriate and taking messages as necessary. This may include reception duties as required.
- May be required to undertake any other reasonable administrative duties, including deputising for others, which fall within the role and/or to support smooth running of Brainkind service/unit/department as directed by line manager.
- Communicate effectively with staff at all levels, ensuring the efficient collation and distribution of information.
- May assist and support in the collection and submission of accurate data to Central Support Services/Functions within specified deadlines.
- May be required to support in the chasing debts in conjunction with Credit Controllers and/or central support service/functions.
ABOUT YOU:
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically word, excel, outlook and internet use.
- Knowledge of management and appointment booking using manual and computerised systems.
- Experience of Creating and managing databases, graphs, spreadsheets and tables
- Proven organisational skills.
- RSA Stage II, Word Processing or NVQ 2 in Business Administration (or equivalent – Desirable)

We seek to appoint a professional, motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Domestic Services team in providing high quality, professional and responsive cleaning services to the Junior and Senior Schools.
The Domestic Assistant will join a multi-disciplined facilities team consisting of four caretakers, two maintenance staff, three grounds staff and twenty-two domestic staff. The Domestic Assistant will report to the Domestic Supervisor who in turn, reports to the Head of Facilities and Estates.
Hours: This is a permanent, all year-round role which will include the compulsory safeguarding training at the start of each academic year and staff training days. Normal hours of work are 4.00pm-8.00pm (20 hours a week) on school days during term time.
During the school holidays, the Domestic Assistant will work between 7.00am and 11.00am (20 hours per week). Some work outside these hours, including weekends, may be required in connection with special school events.
Salary: The full-time equivalent salary for this role is in the region of £23,883 gross per annum (Full time equivalent based on a 37.5 hour working week). The actual salary for 20 hours per week will be £12,737gross per annum, which is equivalent to £12.21 per hour. Salaries are paid in twelve equal monthly instalments.

Domestic Assistant Job Description
Allen Hall Seminary is seeking a reliable and committed Domestic Assistant to join our friendly Domestic Services team. This is an important role supporting the day-to-day life of our Seminary, helping to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for seminarians, resident priests, staff, and visitors.
About the Role
As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a key part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the Seminary. Working under the guidance of the Domestic Supervisor, you will carry out a range of housekeeping and laundry duties, supporting both residential life and, during the summer months, the operation of the Seminary hostel.
Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and servicing guest rooms, communal areas, classrooms, offices, staff rooms, and kitchenettes

Servicing priests’ flats, including kitchens, bathrooms, and bed making
-
Collecting, laundering, ironing, and replacing personal and house laundry

Maintaining laundry areas and equipment

Undertaking minor repairs to laundry and house linen
-
Preparing refreshments for meetings and conferences

Supporting hostel operations during July and August, including room preparation, daily servicing, laundry, and occasional weekend or bank holiday working

Assisting with dining room set-up on a cover basis, when required

Undertaking training and any other reasonable duties as needed
