At the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust we are involved in creating and conserving wetlands and the species who live in them. At Washington Wetland Centre we develop and maintain visitor areas which provide enjoyable areas which enhance the visitor experience.
What you will be doing:
- Cleaning and tidying of hides to include litter picking, sweeping out, window cleaning and shelf cleaning
- Maintaining approaches to hides
Volunteering as Hide Cleaner at WWT Washington is a great opportunity to get to see some of our best wildlife from the hides while you work, interact with a range people, including staff and visitors, and make a valuable difference to the upkeep and presentation of our reserve.
Volunteers are an essential part of the WWT team. You'll get a warm welcome, including information on training, equipment and anything else you need.

You will be working closely with the CEO to:

By working with the current board to advise and oversee financial growth, the organisation is able to ensure its services are sustainable, and that the growing demand for support from those who have experienced sexual abuse is met. Police statistics are showing an increase of sexual offences recorded, and many survivors of abuse endure psychological trauma for years before seeking support.
- Our ideal trustee will have accounting experience, preferably using online tools (e.g. Xero)
- experience setting and monitoring annual budgets and will be able to advise on financial policies and procedures.
The treasurer will play a key role, working alongside the CEO, to ensure the organisation is financially stable and able to continue to offer support to survivors, and can grow in a sustainable way to offer a more diverse range of services so no one is left without help.

Jesus College, Oxford offers a Visiting Senior Research Fellowship to a scholar of international distinction in research who holds a remunerated post in another University or equivalent and who wishes to spend time in Oxford to pursue their research. The Fellowship is tenable from 1 October 2026, for a minimum of one term and a maximum of one academic year. The College seeks applications from candidates in any field of research, although there is a preference this year for candidates in the Humanities and Social Sciences. This is an Out and about visit role which means your visits are likely to be longer, very active and the person you visit will often take an active part in planning your outings and activities in the community. Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Our current Pastor is due to retire in the summer of 2026 and we are seeking to call a new man to take on this role and work with the other 2 elders and 4 deacons in the oversight of the church.
The church currently has 33 members and we meet twice on a Sunday with both services live streamed (Sunday morning congregation around 50 evening 20/30). We have a midweek Bible Study and Prayer Meeting, a Tots & Tinies Group one morning, age-appropriate young people's groups on one evening and there is monthly visitation in the local community.
We practice believer's baptism and open communion and are Mission minded both locally and internationally.
A 4 bedroom manse is available alongside the church.
Horsley Evangelical Church is situated in the village of East Horsley, Surrey and serves both East and West Horsley which have a combined population of 8,000 and this number is growing due to new housing developments.
Required Skills
The man we are looking for will know a call to pastoral ministry in general and a specific call from the Lord to pastor Horsley Evangelical Church at this time. He will be a Christian, a godly man who seeks to worship God each day in his own life and who aims to love the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength. Like anyone called to spiritual leadership, he will set others an example in love, faith and behaviour. His character should exhibit the qualities in 1 Timothy 3.
He will be a man with a pastoral heart for people, seeking to build them up and encourage them in their Christian faith. He will have a heart for the lost including young people and children, always seeking ways to reach out to unbelievers with the gospel.
He will be a man of prayer, understanding his calling to include praying for God's people in the church. He will also have a love for the word of God and an ability to expound and preach the Scriptures faithfully, relevantly and with great patience. We would expect him to understand the importance of preaching the word of God in the overall task of shepherding God's people.
We want the man to be the overall spiritual leader of the church and to be assisted in that task by fellow elders. He will fully accept the FIEC statement of faith and be non-charismatic in his understanding of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Ideally the man would have previous experience of being a Pastor and have a family.
