About the Role
Outward’s Older People’s services include a number of self-contained flats used by the London Borough of Hackney as interim accommodation. These homes provide short-term housing for older residents who can no longer remain in their previous accommodation but are yet to be offered a permanent home that meets their changing needs.
We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and organised Interim Accommodation Officer to join our team. You will be responsible for providing a housing management service that ensures residents are safe, comfortable, and well-supported throughout their stay, and that they are well-prepared when it’s time to move on.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with Hackney’s teams, including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Brokerage Officers
- Supporting residents at the point of move-in and move-out
- Carrying out risk assessments and regular welfare checks
- Reporting repairs and health & safety concerns
- Coordinating with care providers, families, and other stakeholders to meet residents’ individual needs
This is a varied role that requires excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a flexible approach to managing day-to-day responsibilities, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable people.

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge
- Experience of providing housing or supported accommodation services to vulnerable individuals
- Experience of managing voids and tenancy processes, including sign-ups, end-of-tenancy checks, and property inspections
- Experience of managing tenancy breaches, including anti-social behaviour, and responding to complaints
- Experience of assessing client needs and working collaboratively with social workers, care providers, and support agencies
- Understanding of welfare benefits, including the ability to support with claims, appeals, and access to entitlements
- Sound knowledge of housing management procedures, including arrears management, tenancy sustainment, and repairs
- Experience of liaising with landlords, contractors, and local authority teams
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and ability to work with vulnerable adults
- Awareness of voids management procedures and experience working to targets

Finding Freedom From Abuse Role Title Domestic Abuse Support Worker Reports to Head of Refuge Location Test Valley • To work outside of normal working hours including participation in the on-call rota. When on Special conditions call, the role holder needs to be available for work and have access to a car. • The role holder needs to have an objective distance from any personal experience of violence or abuse. • Due to the nature of this role, there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that only female candidates will be considered. Role Purpose To provide high quality support and safety planning to women and children in crisis. This includes enabling women to access housing, welfare, benefits and legal advice. A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment. Responsibility Areas Service delivery Key Activities • To provide practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse in accordance with FFFA values. This will include conducting key work sessions on a regular basis and keeping casework records up to date. • To welcome new residents, explain and arrange for them to sign occupancy agreements, ensuring that they are aware of their options for moving on to more permanent accommodation and to develop a proactive move on strategy for individual residents. • To collect rent payments promptly, record properly, and bank within agreed timescales. • To ensure that rooms becoming vacant are re-let as soon as possible, taking all appropriate steps to enable new referrals into the service. • To establish the risks to, and the needs of survivors of, domestic violence and their children through assessing their practical and emotional support needs throughout their stay at the refuge. • To develop individual support and risk management plans which address the risk of harm to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse and their children, and to ensure that such plans are in place for each resident. • To ensure that any issues in relation to safeguarding children or vulnerable adults are brought to the immediate attention of the service manager, or if unavailable another manager. • To work in partnership with other agencies and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met. • To assess benefit requirements of women escaping domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse and to ensure prompt take up of housing and other benefits. • To ensure that survivors are aware of their rights to legal protection for themselves and their children, arranging for the provision of legal advice as required and accompany women to appointments if appropriate. • To recognise, respect and address the needs of service-users who face barriers when seeking help to access the service, including those from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, disabled people, women with complex needs and other hard to reach groups. • To be an ambassador for FFFA, working in partnership with other agencies to ensure an effective, coordinated community response to survivors of domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse and their children. • To work within FFFA management system following all policies and procedures. • To provide statistical monitoring or reports as required. We're on the lookout for passionate volunteers to join us at one of our events on Thursday April 9th. As a volunteer on the day you’ll be part of an amazing atmosphere and will support Mencap to make change through raising funds and engaging with your local community.
The quiz night is made up of several different rounds and is a fun evening of quizzing and fundraising. This event is a very popular annual fundraiser for Mencap, so we really need the help of volunteers to help it run smoothly!

When and where will the event take place?
The event takes place on Thursday 9th April in Chelsea (a short walk from Knightsbridge tube station), and we are looking for volunteers to support us with the set up from 2-5:30pm, and then to help us host the event from 5:30 -10:30pm.
As this event involves alcohol, this role is only available for people over the age of 18. You will also need to wear smart black clothes and comfy shoes whilst volunteering at this event.
About Mencap Events Our events are vital to Mencap, bringing people together to share experiences, launch programmes and celebrate successes! They also often help to raise funds for our services, such as the Learning Disability Helpline, advocacy services, and national campaigns such as "Do You See Me?".

Role Responsibility
You will be supporting Young People to manage their finances, gain independent living skills, promote health, wellbeing and healthy lifestyle choices as well as supporting them to maximise their involvement in local training, education, and employment opportunities.
The role is changeable, and every day will be different, some examples of what you will be responsible for are:
- Managing the referrals, sign up, support and move on for the Young People

The Ideal Candidate
As a Youth Support Worker, we are looking for candidates who have knowledge and experience of working with young people with complex needs, homelessness, children who are looked after and in transition to leaving care or care leavers.
We’re ideally looking for a person with a NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Social Care, Youth Support Work or Housing/Homelessness, however this is not essential for the role. We are also looking for people with a background of working with young people and an understanding of homelessness and the impact this has on the wellbeing of Young People.
Ideally you will have experience in support planning, re-engaging and motivating young people to participate in employment and work programmes, education, training, volunteering, and skill building opportunities.
You need to be a great team player with lots of energy, you’ll need strong communication skills, a flexible approach and positive attitude to achieve targets in a challenging environment which requires empathy, understanding and patience.
Shift patterns
The service is staffed 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. As a Youth Support worker, you must be flexible to the service needs which include days/evenings and weekend working.

Job Introduction
At Turning Point, we support people across The UK with Mental Health, Substance Misuse and Learning Disabilities. As a Youth Support Worker, you will ensure that young people living in Turning Point’s supported accommodation are supported to thrive and reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment, increasing their independency to create a positive move on into the community.
As a Youth Support Worker, you will join The Lancashire Young People supported accommodation services that supports 18 young people (Aged 16- 21) across two locations in Chorley (Parker House and The Bridge).
Role Responsibility
You will be supporting Young People to manage their finances, gain independent living skills, promote health, wellbeing and healthy lifestyle choices as well as supporting them to maximise their involvement in local training, education, and employment opportunities.
The role is changeable, and every day will be different, some examples of what you will be responsible for are:
- Managing the referrals, sign up, support and move on for the Young People
- Developing, implementing and reviewing individual support plans and risk assessments focussing on young people’s needs, strengths and goals.
- Providing support with budgets and finances
- Provide an excellent rent / service charge collection service, ensuring regular accounts monitoring and contact with people regarding payments
- Completing accurate and detailed daily records for the Young People
- Providing practical support and guidance to the Young People including daily living skills, cooking, cleaning, and ‘moving on’ plans
- Ensuring proactive and constructive communication to the Young People including facilitating weekly key-working sessions, problem solving and supporting with their day-to-day needs
- Supporting the Young People and landlords with housing management tasks addressing practical aspects of living in supported housing, including managing repairs, tenancies, income and anti-social behaviour.

The Vacancy
Our helpline advisors act as the first point of contact for our service users and we are looking for a confident and professional individual to join our helpline team to work with us in delivering a first class response to all communication methods from our service users. We are looking for a Helpline Adviser to join our team, working 35 hours per week.
You will be responsible for speaking with service users directly in relation to a range of services. This includes direct contacts from young people, local authorities, foster carers, parents etc. You will be required to provide assistance with service referrals, giving advice on a range of issues and providing information or signposting to other services.
You will process electronic referrals where you will ensure that all of the information is accurately and precisely recorded and is in accordance with service criteria.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping and wanting to make a difference to the lives of children/ young people and vulnerable adults.
