About the Role
Leading our amazing team of passionate and skilled service managers, you will take responsibility to deliver and develop our portfolio of support services based on changing local community and individual needs. You will be outward facing, working with our Head of Development and Sustainability to identify and evaluate new and emerging opportunities.
We are looking for someone who has:
· Proven leadership experience in mental health, health and social care, or the voluntary sector.
· A deep understanding of mental health challenges and service delivery.
· Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
· A commitment to equity, lived experience, and community empowerment.
Salary
£45,000-£50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours Per Week
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Head Office, Hanley, and Winsford Hub, Cheshire.

Project Support Officer (Volunteering)
About Us
VAST is a registered charity dedicated to supporting and empowering the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Stoke-on-Trent. We aim to foster strong local networks, strengthen community engagement, and build the capacity of local community groups.
The Role
We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic Project Support Officer to help deliver VAST’s volunteer brokerage service. This role is all about reducing loneliness, boosting volunteering, and bringing communities together.
You’ll act as a key point of contact for volunteers, ensuring they have a positive experience, and support volunteer-involving organisations to match individuals with opportunities that align with their interests and goals. You’ll also assist with planning inclusive community events, maintaining accurate records, and providing flexible administrative support to the Projects Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, is highly organised, and wants to make a real difference in local communities.
What We’re Looking For
· People-focused approach – You’ll enjoy supporting volunteers and helping them find opportunities that match their interests and goals.
· Strong organisational skills – Able to prioritise tasks, manage data accurately, and keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.
· Excellent communication – Confident in engaging with a wide range of people.
· IT proficiency – Comfortable using Microsoft Office and maintaining good administrative systems.
· Team player with initiative – Flexible, collaborative, and able to work independently when needed.
· Commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities – Passionate about making volunteering accessible for everyone.
· Local knowledge – Understanding of Stoke-on-Trent communities and the barriers people face to volunteering (desirable).
