Day Time Chef:
We are seeking a qualified / part qualified Chef to join our small, friendly catering team to support food preparation and service for our students, staff, and guests.
Moorlands College is a Higher Education (18 yrs +) residential campus providing three meals per day, for the majority of the year, plus serving additional guests and staff during lunch time.
This is a great role for anyone looking to build on their newly achieved catering qualifications or return to a career in the kitchen.
Successful applicants will have:
- A good understanding of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
- A recognised catering qualification (NVQ Level 2). Recently qualified or final year College students will also be considered for this post.
- Practical cookery skills and an experience of food preparation following a variety of agreed menus, including catering for special dietary needs, within an agreed budget.
- Be able to work independently without direct support at times.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and enthusiastic to try new things and learn new skills.
- A good team player and willingness to work and support others in a close-knit team.
- Good sense of humour.
Shifts
Day Time Shifts. Early shifts start at 7am. Late shifts finish no later than 6pm.
While this is not a term time only role – the Kitchen closes over Easter and Christmas, and Mid August, so annual leave can be used then.

Vacancy for Temporary Personal Assistant (PA) to Director (Maternity Cover)
Hours: 16 hours a week (minimum 4 days) – Flexibility for start and finish times.
We are seeking an experienced Personal Assistant to support the Director of Learning and Student Experience. This position will support Moorlands’ vision to equip people, passionate about Jesus, to impact the church and the world. This is an opportunity to become part of the Moorlands College community, working alongside senior academic leaders of the College.
Successful candidates must have experience in facilitating and prioritising administrative support to an individual, along with good organisation and efficient work practices. Strong working knowledge of MS Office is essential. The role would suit a confident communicator, comfortable managing a variety of tasks and projects at any one time, and able to prioritise deadlines independently.
Knowledge of the higher education sector and theology would be an advantage when supporting students and staff, alongside experience of utilising databases and electronic systems to maximise efficiencies.

Vacancy for Domestic Assistant (Permanent / Part Time/ 52 weeks a year contract)
Hours: 15 Hours per week / Wed, Thurs and Fri mornings (5-hour day)
Start Date: Immediate Start or 6th January 2025
We are looking for a Domestic Assistant to join our Facilities Team to support the day to day cleaning of the College Offices and Residential Block.
Previous experience would be an advantage, but more importantly we are looking for enthusiastic, hard working and reliable candidates to join our friendly team. This role would suit someone living locally, or with access to their own transport, as public transport to Sopley is limited.
