Support Worker - Female Welsh speaking (3431)
We have an exciting opportunity for a confident and outgoing support worker to join our dedicated team in Cardiff. In this role, you will support people to build relationships, try new things, and maintain an active presence within their local communities.
You will need to hold a full UK driving license for this role and be able to speak Welsh.
Dorothy Lewis Court is a Core and Cluster Supported Living Service- we offer targeted support to 10 vulnerable adults with additional needs, mental health and learning difficulties- each with their own individual personalities, challenges and aspirations. Your job is to support your team and each Person with Support to break down the barriers and challenges created by their disabilities to live with purpose and achieve their goals. No two days will look the same, we support Adults with a Leaning Disability between the ages of 20 to 70 years old. Your responsibilities could include supporting People with Support to work , to the bank, with personal care needs, to appointments or on trips around the UK and abroad!
Due to the nature of this service, you will be expected to work a variety of shift patterns ranging from days, evenings, sleep in night shifts and waking night shifts.
Please note that some of the People we Support may display behaviours that challenge, so applicants will need to be confident in tricky, unusual or complex situations. An ideal applicant will be able to wear many different hats in one day, adapting their approach to supporting a variety of people throughout.

I am 92 years old and use non-verbal communication. I enjoy quite time with staff, people watching, cups of tea, and to watch old films.
I am 68 years old, I love being with people, staff interaction, music, Karaoke, theatre.
We are friendly and welcoming, our hobbies include going to town, reflexology, shopping, going out for coffee.
We are looking to recruit Male Support Workers to work in our home, support us in the local community and in all aspects of our daily lives 24 hours a day (this will include all aspects of personal care and manual handling and administering medication). You will be friendly, confident and have lots of patience. You will have a good sense of humour and take a gentle approach towards others.
We need someone who can help us with everyday living skills, which includes housework, shopping, finances, cooking and supporting us to a variety of health appointments.
