About the role
As a Night Enabling Support Worker it will be your role to provide support and encouragement, by taking direction from both the person supported and the person centred support plan.
You will be required to maintain accurate records while at work in line with the service requirements. You may also be required to administer personal care and medication.
Beaumont Court is an Independent Living service run by Shaftesbury, the disability charity that connects people with their communities.

About the role
As a Maintenance person you will be required to perform general maintenance or repairs for assigned equipment/facilities. You will also be required to regularly inspect, log and report items for specialist maintenance.
Examples of general duties will include minor repairs, painting, building furniture, changing light bulbs, unblocking toilets and gardening.
You will also need to support with the Health and Safety within the service, ensuring that there are no hazards in place.
The driving requirements of the role is to ensure the safe transport for the people we support and maintain the vehicles in accordance with Shaftesbury’s policies.
John Grooms Court, Norwich, is a residential home for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. This service provides 25 single-occupancy, self-contained flats plus two flats for two people.

About the role
As a Domestic Assistant it will be your role to ensure that the service cleanliness and hygiene is maintained to a high standard, meeting all internal and external regulatory standards.
Ashley Place in Bognor Regis is a residential care home located on the seafront, close to the town centre. Designed in consultation with residents, the service offers state of the art equipment and facilities and highly experienced, trained staff.
As well as the residential home, we offer a range of disability and rehabilitation services. We work with people in the community and in their own homes.
We also offer wellbeing and respite stays. Our location by the sea in Bognor Regis makes Shaftesbury Ashley Place an ideal location for a short break or longer. Some people have used the service whilst adaptations are made at their home. We have five designated rooms on the second floor of our modern building. The first floor is a residential care service for adults with disabilities and on the ground floor we have communal spaces for socialising and dining.

About the role
As a Maintenance person you will be required to perform general maintenance or repairs for assigned equipment/facilities. You will also be required to regularly inspect, log and report items for specialist maintenance.

As a Maintenance person you will be required to perform general maintenance or repairs for assigned equipment/facilities. You will also be required to regularly inspect, log and report items for specialist maintenance.
Examples of general duties will include minor repairs, painting, building furniture, changing light bulbs, unblocking toilets and gardening.
You will also need to support with the Health and Safety within the service, ensuring that there are no hazards in place.
The driving requirements of the role is to ensure the safe transport for the people we support and maintain the vehicles in accordance with Shaftesbury’s policies.

As well as the residential home, we offer a range of disability and rehabilitation services. We work with people in the community and in their own homes.
We also offer wellbeing and respite stays. Our location by the sea in Bognor Regis makes Shaftesbury Ashley Place an ideal location for a short break or longer. Some people have used the service whilst adaptations are made at their home. We have five designated rooms on the second floor of our modern building. The first floor is a residential care service for adults with disabilities and on the ground floor we have communal spaces for socialising and dining.

You will be responsible for Delivering Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions to young people with a variety of developmental disorders. Working 1:1 or 2:1 with a student as well as working in a group over communal activities, supporting educational and therapeutic programs as needed, developing a Total Communication environment, providing training for staff and managing your own caseload. You will work closely with families and other professionals to provide an excellent quality of care and to act as a source of information, support and advice.
Ideally you will have experience of working with young people either in a special school or within paediatric speech and language therapy setting alongside post graduate qualifications in Dysphagia.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and dedicated multi-disciplinary team to ensure students’ speech and language needs are met during the college day. It will involve participating in class-based activities across our enterprise sessions to promote students’ independence.
The successful candidate will understand the importance of providing high quality and promoting independence. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to act calmly and respond in a professional manner in occasionally challenging situations. Able to work under your own initiative, you will use supervision and support systems for effective service delivery. An awareness of safeguarding and relevant policies, procedures and legislation is required.
Key Responsibilities
- To promote integration of Speech and Language Therapist treatment plans/programmes into education through example and staff training.
- To demonstrate and uphold exemplary clinical practice at all times, in own clinical caseload, including contemporaneous and accurate record keeping; maintaining awareness of HCPC guidelines.
- To monitor student progress and recognise when to discuss any changes with the MDT Team.
- To carry out assessments using various treatment skills to support students. This may include:
- Working with the ACE Centre alongside the assessment and use of VOCAs;
- Understanding of the use of sign and Makaton/Singalong
- Understanding the use of language skill development;
- To plan and implement interventions, using various treatment skills, monitor progress and evaluate outcomes.
- To encourage students and other staff members in an active approach to developing communication and language. This requires empathy, sensitivity and excellent interpersonal skills.
- To deliver assessment and report on student development for annual reviews
- To carry out a therapeutic programme of work alone and without direct supervision.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Practical experience working within an educational environment.
- Experience building positive relationships with children and young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team to provide training for staff and families.

Job outline
Based at Shaftesbury Millie College, the Occupational Therapist will oversee OT provision for students with complex medical needs, often with associated difficulties such as autism. You will be clinically responsible for Occupational Therapy input for some students in terms of functional life skills and sensory processing to reduce barriers to learning and embed therapeutic strategies into the college curriculum. Therapies at Millie College form part of the integrated delivery model, where therapies are functional, have purpose, and demonstrate a meaningful benefit. Therapies are needs-led, regularly monitored, and integrated into the student's college day.
Key Responsibilities:
- To work closely with the OT team and be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary Team (MDT).
- To take responsibility for the planning of sessions; both group and 1-1 sessions.
- To offer support and ideas for the future development of the OT service with the aim of maintaining a high-quality service.
- To have collective responsibility for safeguarding all students and contribute to the safeguarding policies and procedures.
