Job Description
Shaftesbury is a disability charity offering care, education, vocational and rehab services. The charity also provides residential care, nursing, and supported living.
Within the education sector, Shaftesbury has one school, Shaftesbury Victoria School, and 2 further education colleges, Shaftesbury Millie College and Shaftesbury Nash College. The school is for students aged 3-19, and the colleges are for students aged 16-25. All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), as well as physical and/or intellectual disabilities, and some have profound and complex learning needs.
Assistant Lecturer – Skills for Adult Life
Nash College is a further education college for young people who have a range of diagnoses including
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (with associated
complex physical needs).
What we teach
Nash College teaches courses that provides our young people with skills for adult life including
employability and functional skills. You need to be able to support the delivery of a personalised
program of study using NOCN units to meet the EHCP expected outcomes of our young people.
Is this you?
As someone with an interest in learning, you will support the delivery of the
individualised programmes that enable our students to lead purposeful and enriched
lives on leaving Nash College. You will provide PPA cover for a class lecturer.
You will be literate, numerate and highly organised as well as having the ability to
demonstrate team leadership within a collaborative team.
