Support Worker / Intervenor – South East Hertfordshire
Support Worker / Intervenor – South East Hertfordshire Area
Looking for a new challenge?
We are now looking for Senior Support Workers / Intervenors to join our Intervenor Service in the Hertfordshire area, working across various locations such as Cheshunt.
Our Intervenors work 1:1 with children and adults who were born deafblind known as congenital Deafblindness, often with other complex needs, working with them and their family or carers to develop a way of communicating.
Intervenors promote personal and social development whilst encouraging independence through enabling access to activities.
You will receive specialist training in how to support individuals who are congenitally deafblind, often combined with other disabilities.
This role might include supporting people with:
-
Day to day activities led by the person you'll be supporting.
-
Enabling an independent lifestyle.
-
Accessing a variety of different activities in their home based around their sensory needs, communication preferences and interests.
-
Personal care and hygiene.
-
Community access for shopping, social activities or other trips.
A full valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for these roles.
(Adult) Cheshunt – 4 hours per week
We have a young adult in the Waltham Cross area who requires support for 4 hours per week. They have a passion for sporting activities such as playing and watching football, along with adventurous activities such as theme parks. They are currently interested in accessing social events to develop their peer group and explore the steps to gaining employment. Their main form of communication is British Sign Language. Senior Support Worker / Intervenor - Central Hertfordshire
Looking for a new challenge?
We are now looking for Senior Support Workers / Intervenors to join our Intervenor Service in the Hertfordshire area, working across various locations such as St Albans & Welwyn Garden City.
Our Intervenors work 1:1 with children and adults who were born deafblind known as congenital Deafblindness, often with other complex needs, working with them and their family or carers to develop a way of communicating.
Intervenors promote personal and social development whilst encouraging independence through enabling access to activities.
You will receive specialist training in how to support individuals who are congenitally deafblind, often combined with other disabilities.
A full valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for these roles.
(Adult) St Albans – 2 hours per week
Looking to help someone live the life they choose? Are you in or able to access the St Albans area for 2-4hrs per week.
We have an individual who requires a tactile sensory approach who enjoys sensory activities and problem solving through puzzles, they also enjoy being independent with support to manage daily tasks such as making their own drinks and snacks.
(Child) St Albans – 8 hours per week
You will be working towards supporting the children to enable them to enjoy play and learning through the development of everyday skills such as turn-taking and gaining independence in new environments.
One child requires support up to twice a week for 4hrs after school, these 4hrs would be delivered via 2 visits per week for 2hrs each.
The second child requires support twice a week, for 2hrs per visit, they enjoy exploring their own vocalisations, intensive interaction and exploring toys and how they operate.
(Young Adult) Welwyn Garden City – 6 hours per week
We have a young adult who requires support in the half terms in the Welwyn Garden City Area, they enjoy pampering sessions, cooking and trying new activities. If you already have experience with Braille, or if you are interested in learning about Braille, we would like to hear from you.
(Child) Welwyn Garden city – 2 to 4 hours per week
Within this post you will provide support up to 6 hours per week, depending on your suitability / availability. You will be working on a 1:1 basis, supporting a child who requires support every weekend for 4hrs. They are also looking for support for 2hrs after school, during the weekdays. Do you have an interest for the approach of intensive interaction, do you have a flare for sensory activities and promoting communication through pictures/photos.

We have an adult who would like support one afternoon per week to access their local town to spend time in social settings where they can enjoy a social meal whilst experiencing their surroundings. Casual Support Worker / Intervenor - North Hertfordshire Area
Looking for a new challenge?
Work with Action Deafness and make a real difference to the lives of people we support and their families.
We are now looking for Senior Support Workers / Intervenors to join our Intervenor Service in the Hertfordshire area, working across various locations such as Stevenage, Ware & Hitchin.
Our Intervenors work 1:1 with children and adults who were born deafblind known as congenital Deafblindness, often with other complex needs, working with them and their family or carers to develop a way of communicating.
Intervenors promote personal and social development whilst encouraging independence through enabling access to activities.
You will receive specialist training in how to support individuals who are congenitally deafblind, often combined with other disabilities.
This role might include supporting people with:
-
Day to day activities led by the person you'll be supporting.
-
Enabling an independent lifestyle.
-
Accessing a variety of different activities in their home based around their sensory needs, communication preferences and interests.
-
Personal care and hygiene.
-
Community access for shopping, social activities or other trips.
A full valid driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for these roles.
(Child) Stevenage – 4 hours per week
We have one child in Stevenage who requires support twice a week for 2 hours each visit.
You will be working towards supporting the child to enable them to enjoy play and learning through sensory based activities whilst gaining new skills and having fun!
(Adult) Hitchin – 3 hours per week
Do you have access to the Hitchin area to support a young lady who enjoys art and socialising? If you do and have 3 hours free per week, we would love to hear from you! It would be great if you also have existing knowledge of British Sign Language but if not, then support will be given – more importantly, we are looking for someone interested in supporting an individual to participate in a variety of activities and to enable them to have a social outlet.
(Adult) Hitchin – 4 hours per week
We have a second person requiring support in the Hitchin area. They enjoy using their support time to access their local library to explore talking books of interest. They have an interest in building model forms of transport, woodwork and the construction side of building. They also enjoy socialising, meeting new people and partaking in activities such as bowling and shopping. If you feel you would be suited to supporting someone to maintain their hobbies, expand their social circle and develop their independence please do get in touch.
(Young person) Ware – 4 hours per week
We have a young adult who likes to have support to build their independence skills around the home with tasks such as cooking and out in the community with their mobility to increase their own independence. They have an interest in the gym, socialising and trying new things. Do you have up to 4 hours per week to support this young person to have different experiences?

We are looking for Senior Support Workers / Intervenors to join our growing team in Hertfordshire.
Our Intervenors work 1:1 with children and adults who were born deafblind, known as congenital Deafblindness, often with other complex needs, working with them and their family or carers to develop a way of communicating.
Intervenors promote personal and social development whilst encouraging independence through enabling access to activities.
You will receive specialist training in how to support individuals who are congenitally deafblind, often combined with other disabilities.
It is essential for you to have a full UK license with the use of your own vehicle.
This role might include supporting people with:
