We are looking for a passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team, working primarily with children aged 0–2 years. This is a wonderful opportunity to nurture the youngest members of our school community, helping them to feel safe, secure and ready to explore the world around them.
The role includes:

Acting as a key person for a small group of children, building strong bonds with them and their families

Creating a calm, nurturing space indoors, while making full use of your own dedicated outdoor space, plus further facilities including our woodland, gardens and outdoor learning areas

Working with colleagues and visiting specialists (including music, yoga, French and Forest School) to provide a rich and varied nursery experience

Supporting each child’s personal, social and emotional development, while laying the earliest foundations for learning
We are looking for someone who:

Holds a Level 2 or above Early Years qualification

Has experience of caring for children aged 0–2 and a genuine love of working with babies and toddlers

Is warm, patient and positive, with excellent teamwork and communication skills

Brings energy, flexibility and joy to their role every day

Prep Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and highly experienced Prep Teacher to join our team, ideally with Prep school experience and knowledge of the 11+ entrance exam process.
The role includes:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons that build firm foundations for learning
- Creating a safe, supportive classroom where every child feels valued
- Working alongside specialists in Maths, English, Science, Performing Arts, DT, Art, PE and Games, IT, French and German, History, and Forest School
- Supporting the pastoral care and wellbeing of the children in your class
- Contributing to the wider life of the school, from trips to extra-curricular clubs
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified teacher with experience in Prep / Key Stage 2
- Brings warmth, creativity and structure to their teaching
- Works well as part of a team and builds strong relationships with pupils and parents
- Has a genuine passion for teaching
- Prep school experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate

Pownall Hall School are looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Foundation Stage Apprentice to join our nurturing and inspiring team! As an EYFS Apprentice, you’ll work alongside our experienced team, gaining hands-on experience while supporting the development, learning, and well-being of our youngest pupils.

Early Years Foundation Stage Apprenticeship
Hours: Monday-Friday between the hours of 7.30am and 6.00pm (maximum 30-40 hours per week dependent upon college hours, across 4 days if college attendance is required)

Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- To effectively learn and deliver the EYFS alongside the staff team, ensuring that the individual needs and interests of the children in the setting are met.
- Have a good knowledge of the children within the base room’s development and learning, including next steps.
- Support other staff members and engage positively in the staff team.
- Develop and maintain a strong partnership with parents to facilitate the care and learning needs of the children.
- Be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other duties where required such as domestic tasks, preparation of snacks etc.
- To work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the setting’s philosophy is fulfilled.
- To read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the safe running of the setting.
- To develop your role within the team, especially with regard to being a key person.
- To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
- Be willing to take direction and be confident to bring forward ideas.
- Assist in the setting up and maintenance of the learning environments, both inside and out.
- Uphold confidentiality of information received regarding children, parents and staff team members.
- Promote a positive attitude towards both the setting and the children at all times.

Wraparound Practitioner

Hours: Part-time, permanent – 3.00pm to 6.00pm (term time) and 8.30am to 4.30pm (during holiday periods)
