Summary of the Role
As a Scientific Product Owner at Lhasa Limited, you will bridge scientific insight with product execution to deliver software that solves real chemical safety assessment problems. You will own outcomes across discovery, delivery, and iteration, ensuring our solutions reflect real scientific workflows in pharmaceutical and chemical domains and create measurable value for members and regulators. You will collaborate daily with scientists, software developers, application scientists, and member stakeholders to shape strategy, prioritise the backlog, and launch high quality, scientifically robust features and solutions. Main Responsibilities
Product strategy and vision
- Define and communicate a clear product vision grounded in scientific use cases, member needs, and Lhasa’s mission.
- Build and maintain a roadmap that aligns scientific value, regulatory reality, and technical feasibility.
- Own product outcomes after release – track impact and iterate to maximise value.
Discovery and scientific design
- Partner with application and research scientists to map end-to-end scientific workflows, data needs, and decision points across pharma and chemical safety.
- Translate scientific problems into well shaped opportunities, features, and testable hypotheses – with clear success metrics and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure designs uphold scientific integrity, traceability, and explainability, and consider validation and change control where applicable.
Delivery and backlog leadership
- Build a transparent backlog that balances scientific impact, risk, and effort – facilitate refinement, planning, and effective prioritisation.
- Act as voice of the customer and scientists to the team – provide clarity on the “what” and “why” to enable high quality delivery in increments.
- Build roadmaps and plan releases, ensuring the next increments are timely and value focused
Member and market engagement
- Embed member and stakeholder feedback loops – work with application scientists to gather insights – and translate them into prioritised improvements.
- Collaborate with colleagues on go-to-market, documentation, training, and release readiness to ensure adoption and measurable outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships with member experts and Lhasa’s scientific community.
Regulatory and domain awareness
- Understand the regulatory context that our members operate within and how it shapes product requirements, data quality, and evidence needs.
- Stay informed about industry trends in in silico assessment, data standards, and scientific software.
Ways of working
- Champion collaborative, outcome driven practices – support iterative delivery, lean documentation, and continuous discovery.
- Surface risks early, work with technology teams to plan delivery, facilitate trade-offs, and keep decisions visible.

About you
Essential
- Degree or higher in a relevant scientific field – e.g., chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, toxicology, metabolism, degradation, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated Product Owner or closely related product role experience in scientific or deeply technical software.
- Strong Agile skills – backlog management and prioritisation, user stories and acceptance criteria, facilitation of refinement and planning, and iterative delivery.
- Excellent communication across scientific and technical audiences – able to translate between problems, hypotheses, and buildable work.
- Evidence of using metrics and user insights to drive decisions
Desirable
- Professional experience in the pharmaceutical or chemical industries and familiarity with how science is performed in practice – experimental design, data interpretation, and peer review.
- Experience with regulatory concepts relevant to chemical safety and pharma workflows – e.g., how guidance like ICH M7 influences user needs and product decisions.
- Familiarity with validation, change control, and quality considerations in scientific software.
- Experience with data standards, interoperability, and FAIR principles in R&D contexts.

The Lead Platform Engineer provides strategic technical leadership for Lhasa’s cloud-native platform engineering initiatives, establishing architectural standards and operational practices that enable scalable SaaS product delivery. They drive the evolution of developer experience through self-service platforms, GitOps workflows, and comprehensive observability solutions.
Leading a team of platform engineers, they mentor technical talent whilst collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to align platform capabilities with business objectives. The Lead Platform Engineer owns service production reliability, implements DORA and Core 4 metrics for continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with security standards in high-value data environments. They balance strategic cloud platform planning with hands-on technical execution to deliver world-class engineering platforms.

Main Responsibilities
Leadership
- Strategic leadership of the platform engineering team, developing talent at all levels.
- Lead the team’s vision, strategy and roadmap for platform engineering initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with broader organisational goals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the platform engineering team and across tech teams
- Manage team capacity planning and resource allocation, balancing feature delivery with operational excellence and technical debt reduction
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive organisational change management for platform adoption.
Technical Leadership & Cloud Platform Strategy
- Lead implementation of DORA and Core 4 metrics whilst establishing operating models for SaaS product delivery
- Coach and mentor engineers on Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and GitOps good practices whilst reviewing infrastructure changes
- Design GitOps workflows using ArgoCD and architect self-service capabilities through Backstage portal
- Plan cloud platform (internally and AWS), managing cost optimisation and infrastructure budgets
- Establish platform standards for cloud, containerisation, orchestration, observability, security, and CI/CD practices
Developer Experience & Service Management
- Enhance Backstage portal with personalised dashboards and Software Templates for common patterns
- Own production SaaS infrastructure reliability, providing third-line support for escalations
- Design robust CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins whilst managing multi-cluster Kubernetes environments
- Implement security good practices (RBAC, network policies) and disaster recovery strategies
- Partner with Product Teams and Member Services to understand customer requirements and address platform needs
Observability & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) with comprehensive SLIs/SLOs and alerting
- Create runbooks and incident response procedures
- Drive cost optimisation strategies for internal cloud and AWS infrastructure
- Eliminate toil through automation and optimise deployment pipelines for reliability improvements
- Research new technologies and evolve platform based on industry good practices
Collaboration & Standards
- Partner with security teams on compliance in high-value data environments
- Facilitate platform engineering community of practice and coordinate with product teams on planning
- Document architectural decisions and ensure consistent tool adoption across teams
- Mentor and coach engineers on platform technologies and best practices
- Review code and infrastructure changes from team members
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- 5+ years designing cloud infrastructure with proven track record of owning production SaaS platforms
- Expert Kubernetes orchestration including multi-cluster management and resource optimisation
- Experience architecting cloud infrastructure across multiple providers with cost management ownership
- Hands-on GitOps experience with ArgoCD and Helm for continuous deployment
- Proficiency in IaC tools (CDK, Terraform, Ansible) and observability platforms
- Knowledge of security standards and compliance in high-value data environments
- Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence across organisational boundaries
- Experience with developer portal platforms for self-service capabilities

Summary of the Role
As a Senior Information Security Analyst, you will be a key member of Lhasa’s security team, acting as both a technical expert and strategic advisor in protecting Lhasa’s information assets, lead complex security initiatives, and mentor team members whilst driving continuous improvement of our security posture.
This broad role covers securing our internal and external infrastructure and cloud platforms, supporting the software development lifecycle of Lhasa’s products, performing technology and supplier risk assessments, proactive vulnerability management, penetration tests and incident investigation and response activities.
You will work autonomously whilst collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, IT professionals, Solution Teams, business leaders, and external partners to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations. You will influence security culture across the organisation and contribute to the strategic direction of Lhasa’s information security programme.

Main Responsibilities
Governance and Risk Management:
- Develop, maintain, and enforce security policies, ensuring they remain current and fit-for-purpose
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management plan.
- Ensure appropriate cyber security protection in line with established procedures and external standards.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure delivery of our software solutions embeds good regulatory and risk practices (e.g. ISO27001, CSA, NIST).
- Conduct technology and supplier risk assessments
Application Security & SDLC:
- Embed security practices throughout the SDLC, including threat modelling, secure code review, and security testing
- Conduct comprehensive application security assessments and provide expert guidance to development teams
- Lead penetration testing and ethical hacking exercises to evaluate the security posture and resilience of the organization’s systems and our products.
- Assess security implications of AI/ML features in Lhasa’s products and provide guidance on secure AI implementation
Security Operations
- Monitor and analyse security events and incidents and coordinate the response and recovery actions.
- Drive security automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency
- Research and evaluate new security technologies, tools, and trends, and recommend appropriate solutions to enhance the security capabilities of the organization.
AI Security & Governance
- Assess security risks of AI tools and platforms used across the organisation
- Develop and implement policies for secure AI adoption and usage

Stakeholder Engagement & Mentorship

About you
Professional Experience:
- At least 5 years relevant hands-on information security experience gained in an Sr Information Security Analyst or similar role.
- Proven experience leading security initiatives and projects independently from conception to completion
- Demonstrable experience implementing and maintaining compliance with ISO 27001 and data protection regulations (GDPR, UK data protection laws)
- Hands-on experience managing and optimising security tools and platforms (e.g. SIEM, MDR, DLP, IAM)
- Experience mentoring or leading junior team members
Professional Qualifications
- Holder of industry-recognised Information Security certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM)
Knowledge & Frameworks:
- Deep understanding of cloud security principles and tools (AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, etc)
- Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and understanding of secure development principles and OWASP Top 10.
- Understanding of AI security risks, including prompt injection, data leakage, model security, and emerging AI threat vectors
