Location: East and West Dunbartonshire
Contract: Full time: 35 Hours/week (1.0 FTE), Part time hours may be considered. Two-Year post
Objective: This post will support the delivery of Scottish Families ‘Routes’ Young Persons Project, working alongside young people in East and West Dunbartonshire, to provide a programme of group support for 12–26 year-olds affected by family alcohol and drug use. The post operates as part of the Routes team led by a Senior Family Support Development Officer and supported by three Development Officers and one Young Persons Support Worker.
Salary: £26,066 per annum plus 4% pension contribution.
Conditions:
The post can be based in either our East or West Dunbartonshire premises but will involve travel throughout both East and West Dunbartonshire at least once a week for groups. Some home working is involved. Due to the nature of this post, access to a car is essential. There will be a close working relationship with young people, schools and other local partner agencies across East and West Dunbartonshire.
Role:

We support young people in East and West Dunbartonshire aged 12-26 years who are affected by family alcohol and drugs use. You will play an integral part in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for young people, helping them to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
Routes is co-produced in collaboration with the young people we support, which means their views are central to everything we do. The Routes model encourages young people to have hope and aspirations. We provide person-centred support which combines one-to-one and/ or group support, helping them build a positive future.
Alongside the advocacy and one-to-one support, we also offer a busy programme of activities and groups. We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative person to join our team to support the delivery of our group and activities programme.
Responsibilities:
• To support the delivery of Scottish Families ‘Routes’ Young Persons Project.
To ensure that young people engaged with the project are properly safeguarded and supported; including monitoring young people’s interaction with the project with regard to safeguarding and child protection procedures and identifying and managing risk to young people.
Plan, organise and attend weekly groups.
• Plan and organise school holiday program with a wide range of activities requested by the young people.
Provide administrative support.
Engage young people in shaping the activity programme through consultation and feedback.
• To co-facilitate a range of group activities with the young people.
• Transport young people to and from groups, trips, and activities.
Identify the need for one-to-one to support and pass to the relevant key worker.
• To maintain and enhance existing peer networks and support young people to build new peer relationships.
• To maintain appropriate monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for activity programme.
Log all group participation on CRM systems.
• To operate within an Equal Opportunities Framework and promote equality issues in all aspects of work.
Any additional duties will normally be to cover unforeseen circumstances or changes in work, and will usually be compatible with the regular type of work. If an additional task or responsibility becomes a regular or frequent part of the job, it will be included in the job description in consultation with the post holder.
