Are you passionate about supporting women to overcome challenges and build brighter futures?

We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Women's Keyworker to join our Women's Community Services team in Cardiff. In this rewarding role, you'll support women experiencing multiple and complex needs, including those serving community orders and women leaving custody, helping them access the support, confidence and opportunities they need to thrive.

Working in a trauma-informed and gender-responsive way, you'll provide practical and emotional support that empowers women to make positive changes and reduce barriers to achieving their goals.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Women's Keyworker, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of women accessing support within the community and following release from prison.
  • Build trusting relationships through one-to-one practical and emotional support.
  • Complete assessments and work collaboratively with women to develop personalised, strengths-based support plans.
  • Help women access services relating to housing, health, substance misuse, finance, education, employment, children and families.
  • Deliver and facilitate group interventions and activities.
  • Provide outreach support to improve engagement and accessibility.
  • Work alongside probation services, prisons, housing providers, social services, health services and other community partners.
  • Advocate for women at multi-agency meetings and, where required, attend family or criminal court proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate records, monitor progress and contribute to service development and improvement.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is empathetic, resilient and motivated to support women facing complex challenges.

Essential

You will have:

  • A commitment to trauma-informed and holistic ways of working.
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting women with multiple and complex needs, such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health challenges and social exclusion.
  • The ability to engage and build trust with women who may have experienced significant barriers to accessing services.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and maintain an active caseload.
  • Good IT and administrative skills, including accurate record keeping
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and continuous professional development.
  • A full driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel throughout the service area.

Desirable

It would be beneficial if you have experience of:

  • Supporting women with multiple and complex needs.
  • Developing effective partnerships with local services and agencies.
  • Completing needs and risk assessments.
  • Creating and delivering tailored support plans.
  • Monitoring outcomes and maintaining data systems

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to supporting women to overcome adversity, build resilience and create lasting change in their lives. You'll work in a collaborative environment where your contribution will have a direct and meaningful impact on the women you support.

Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).

We have become known for the quality of our work and ability to provide bespoke care and support services. While we are proud of our achievements so far, we are ambitious and want to continue to grow and diversify our workforce.

We recognise that employees from different backgrounds bring unique knowledge, perspectives and experiences and we are committed to increasing the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from individuals across all sectors of society.

This is an opportunity for new, challenging and highly rewarding experiences. Our staff make a real difference to people’s lives and in return for your commitment and enthusiasm, we offer a comprehensive training and development programme a generous pension scheme and a positive working environment.
